    No chance.

    The new QB did look good in the bowl game, but until Texas learns to play any defense, they will never be better than 8-4.

    Alabama offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian is the new head coach at the University of Texas following Saturday's rapid-fire bevy of announcements after the Longhorns moved on from fourth-year coach Tom Herman. Sarkisian said in a press conference a few hours after reports circulated he had accepted the job with the Longhorns that his intention was to stay with Alabama through the national championship game on Jan. 11.


    “I made a commitment to Coach Saban and these players to see that through in the championship game,” Sarkisian said, “and then directly after that, I’ll be in Austin.”

    LOL. Texas was not any good before Mac Brown and not any good after. He goes to NC and they are as good as UT right away.

    I still don't see what everybody sees in Sark. He has NEVER been great as the head man and he has already had a "brand job". Nobody is clamoring for the Sark years at Washington or USC. 2025 Texas will have a similar record to what Herman has and looking for the next demogod.

    I agree. I think NFL teams should look at Herman. I think he's a good coach.

    The problem for Texas is they make more money than anybody else in college football but they spend it all on coaches.

    He won’t win 9 games at Texas. He is who he is. Recruiting at Alabama and driving Saban’s Ferrari isn’t hard. Bigger problem- he’s an addict loser.

    He will win 9 games. It is hard not to win nine games at Texas. But it is hard to win more especially with Campbell at Iowa State. And you've got Les Miles recruiting at Kansas. They are not going to be a pushover in a couple of years. All these guys are making millions of dollars. Unless Texas actually spends on players they don't have that much of an advantage. Texas players get spread pretty thin.

    No, they hired him because they thought he learned something from Saban which he probably did and you will likely see him recruiting SEC style for Texas. They are about to get really serious.

    But they made the same mistake they did when they fired Brown. They did not really have anybody to hire. So they made a mistake. They decided anybody was better than Herman.     Sark drove Saban’s Bentley and didn’t crash it. Sark didn’t get to bring the Bentley with him to Texas.
