It could well be BYU. The Cougars return 17 starters including their QB Wilson. Their defense ranked #18 overall last season and their Special Teams ranked 4th. So now you wonder why will this team, apparently loaded with experienced talent finish 5-7? Well there is this little problem called the schedule.
BYU opens at home with Pac 12 South favored Utah. Then They go to Neyland Stadium to listen to 100,000+ crazy Vol fans hoping for a turn around for Jeremy Pruitt's club who finished 5-7 last season. Travelling to any SEC stadium is tough enough. Then they return home to face a USC team and Clay Helton, who basically must win this game to save his job. After that they stay at home and get Washington, the Co-Favorite in the Pac 12 North, and have won 32 games in the past 3 years. An 0-4 start is certainly more than possible for BYU, and 3 of those games are at home.
After that fun start, BYU goes to Toledo and USF, as well as Utah State, who loses a lot on offense but returns their star QB, and San Diego State. And as a welcome hone gift when they return from the USF game, they get to host Boise State. Now that is a tough schedule.
