Not that I care but the stat I gave was that ND hadn't score more than 56 points in the last 4 years - the fact that ND hasn't scored more than 56 points in the last 20 years doesn't make the stat incorrect stupid.

so 3 1/2 quarters isn't most of the game? book came in halfway through the 1st quarter

although to you that didn't count, just like the other start didn't count, and anything else you are lying about doesn't count

He played a couple snaps in garbage time, but didn't get significant playing time in important games last year."

oops i guess that's wrong so what will you go with now? a bowl game isn't an important game?

Not that I care, but Mcsorely has been far from impressive so far, looking at stats against weak teams means nothing- Penn State's schedule has been a joke so far.

looking at the stats eh? i thought you watched the games

if you watched the games, you'd know his comp % is because of weather and drops...thru 4 games, there's been two wr's written off because of their drops, but you already knew that since you watch the games

while i'm bullish on App State, the App State as #20 team in a power ratings would be predicted on playing PSU tight and then that would be predicated on PSU being highly ranked at the start of the year (which is completely subjective, although reasonable opinion).....

OP, i tend to agree with your original thoughts but i also think posters contrary to your opinion make sense too.

oregon game was so strange. i probably wouldn't draw too much from it vis-a-vis stanford. i would say that people (including me) have been wrongly expecting stanford to decline substantially for about the last 7 years.

i think people expected PSU dropoff from low returning starters (doing this from memory) and barkley having been an extraordinary player. i think these alot of these high powered teams that kill lesser teams end up with similar points no matter what. it's just a matter of whether they do it early or late. PSU has started slower than before against opposition (like illinois).

anyway, there's not much data for anybody's opinions right now

I think you're underrating Barkley - he's the best running back to come out of college in over 5 years - he is faster than Odell Beckham and Ezikiel Elliot. He was a once in generation athlete who made Penn State much better than they should have been, Mcsorely can't carry this team against good defenses and the defense lost a lot of starters.

I'm a big fan. He played second half and late second quarter. He looked good against a good LSU defense outside 1 bad pick.

ND is now moved to -6. Injury news? I've watched enough ND football against Stanford to make me pass on this game. I am excited for Book though. He makes this team much better. His wheels are very underrated.

I actually like both these pics but have decided to stray away from ND for the simple fact that Stanford is notoriously lucky in these spots as of late ( how they won against Oregon is beyond my comprehension) .

Ohio state appears to be the much better team this year behind Haskins who looks very sharp, and a defense that should be able to make some key stops even without the help of an injured Bosa. Let's face it this is not the same Penn State as last year without Barkley and Joe Moorehead at OC.

I like Ohio state big here
