Sometimes a good In-Play betting spot. Delay allows athlete to regroup/refocus for comeback.

I can just see the delicate geniuses that make this call....

"There's a storm outside, someone could get hit by lightening"

"Yes, we don't want any injuries"

"Right, tell the gladiators/killers/thugs/hired guns that they can finish later"

Lightning is NOTHING to play around with. YOU MUST USE the 30 Minute rule. If you see lightning or hear thunder, you must wait 30 minutes. Anything less is stupid and careless. We've had too many examples of football players killed/injured by lightning. It has nothing to do with being brave or tough.

Shouldn’t let a few deaths stand in the way of a good parlay

around 25 people in the us die from lightning strikes each year... while around 75 die each year from allergies due to peanut dust

so every time someone opens a bag of peanuts at a game, we should have a MINIMUM 30 minute delay, since someone is 3x as likely to die from that peanut dust than a lightning strike
