One pointer in betting college football...

One thing that has been consistent over the years for me personally. If you're not sure about a game it is better to wait right before the start. One is to see where the line is moving toward, and another is to watch the warmup of the starting QB's if that is possible. Take notice of the facial expression of both. It's like a poker game. If you see a QB smiling and throwing like he's having fun, that is a very good sign. on the other hand, if you see a QB warming up and looks worried, maybe just a little intense, that to me is a sign he's not confident and has a lot of concerns.

Just something to add to your arsenal that has worked for me when I'm not sure about game.

Now let's take tonights game between Tennessee and Georgia Tech. Try to watch the eyes and facial expression of both QB's during warmup if they get it on camera. This will be very telling of how they feel about the game they are about
to play. Sometimes you can't tell, but a lot of times you can.

Just something I do that has helped.

That's a hell of a tip. If you're telling me you can read QB body-language, the same way you'd read the temperament of a thoroughbred b4 a race.

FWIW, I do think there's some validity to Range's post. Good to be loose. Don't want to be tight.

Apply it to NFL week01. Any QBs that u could see tightening up?

    * CHI Glennon, maybe? Terrible position to be in. He knows he's on a short-leash.

I dunno bout college, but I do know as a fan of the Steelers, Roethlisberger can be read during pre-game warm-ups by his throws and body language, I've seen him a few times shaking his head or go up and tell the coach before a game that the ball just isn't coming out of his hands good.

Tennessee will have two QB's playing and one is more a dual threat, and I don't think nerves will affect his running ability too much, I guess the same would apply to GT's QB who won't be passing too much anyway. Seems like it would be a lot tougher to judge because you are dealing with a lot younger kids and QB maybe isn't as important as the NFL. Just my opinions.

I bet the greyhound at the dog track that takes a big steaming deuce before the race begins.
Now if the greyhound that takes the deuce is #2 on the race card then I double down.
If the greyhound that takes the deuce is #2 on the race card and it's the second race, then I bet the mortgage on it.

Last month I was at the dog track, right before the second race, the #2 dog, took a big old stinking deuce right before the start.
I bet a bundle on him, wouldn't you know he finished second for the love of God.
    Go figure.

In the pros you can read the body language of the entire team. How do they celebrate? Do they get along? Etc.

It's ok to read the key players to see if they are happy or concerned, but it's better to know why or if one should be happy or concerned, then read the language.

It's the next part of the puzzle, and if good enough, you won't ever have to watch the players again.

Very nice information, but you sure can tell the amateurs from the pros. Ask ANY successful pro who plays for more than McD's money what to do if you are not sure about a game and he/she will tell you this: "If you are not sure who to play on the game, DO NOT WAGER on the game". This is gaming 101. First grade school stuff. One of the very first things the successful player learns. How did the line movement on the Texas A&M-UCLA game affect you yesterday. If you followed the "smart" money you lost your arse, because it was NOT smart money at all. Unfortunately you could not know this.

    The Best Tip:
Stay away from College Sports in general.....But If you just have to bet it... Give yourself a chance and wait til 3-4 weeks in regular season....Maybe then you have a little history you can handicap to give you a edge...

Once he learns punctuation, I don't think you'll be very impressed with what he has to say, only very rarely at best.
But likely not at all. He's not a bettor.

When it's all said and done, at the end of the day, when all the cards are counted, when the deal is ready, I think we can all agree that if you see your starting QB get the Hershey Squirts on the field right before game time, probably best to lay off the bet.
