Rutgers +27.5 is a solid home fieldFriday night bet.

    Friday night in New Jersey
the stands and fans will be decked out in Scarlet Knights Red.

Washington isn't flying over to NJ, going back in time 3 hours
and winning this game by 28 points. That's not happening.

Rutgers has a solid Senior QB (used to play for Louisville)
Kyle Bolin will make his first start as a Rutgers player.
They also have great QB depth and some speculate we could
see others play the position according to special plays.

Washington's defense will be without Viktor Azeem and Austin Joyner.

Although Washington is expected to be a Top-15 team this year,
flying to the East Coast for a Friday night game - Rutgers opener -
is not usually a good spot to lay 27.5 points.

Take the Scarlet Knights to keep this one interesting enough
for the home crowd, and Washington to hold back on its tired legs
    late in the game.

    Rutgers +27.5 FS1 8:00 PM
    Piscataway, NJ

I will buy back at either 27 or 26.5. I think line will shift more. Lots of touts on rutgers.

Trust I live in the area, Rutgers is horrible. UW could be coming from the moon and would be good. RU was shutout like 4 times last year. This isn't solid at all. The actual "solid" play is Washington covering the points or the under. Wouldn't risk a feather on Rutgers, whether they actually cover it or not. Washington should absolutely steam roll them.

    could see a 45-3 or 42-10 final

This is like the S Fl game where they were 22 point favorites and spotted SJ a 16-0 lead and then outscored them 42-6 but failed to cover. Indiana had an excellent chance to cover as a 21 point home dog.

These road favs come out lethargic and settle in. 27.5 is probably not enough because Rutgers will have too tooo many 3 and outs and their defense is going to get tired. Wash is a top 10 team and this final is in the 51-10 territory.

SFL lost some weapons . Washington did not . This is a rematch like last year. Washington kills them

I don't think Washington has ever played a night game on the East Coast.

The last game they had in the Eastern Time Zone was 12:30 pm
    at Notre Dame in 2009.

Good luck, think this would fair better for Rutgers if it was a morning or early afternoon game. Not sure what they have coming back or if one even wants many of those players from the last couple years coming back. Maybe a smart experienced qb though can buy them some extra downs and extend possessions as you say they have. Itd also be better if Washington had a big game next week, but they only play Montana so they will be more focused on this game than that one. 1st half might be a decent play here.

Wuh ? Huskies are taking the field at 11pm body time.
They will be playing at 2am body time.
Rutgers is expected to improve from last season. Their QB is not garbage,
their running game is not garbage either.. and Washington has some outs on defense.
Of course Washington will be scoring a lot but I think Rutgers will put up more points
than anyone else in this thread expects.

You have it backwards. West Coast is 3 hours behind. Game kicks at 5:00 pm Pacific.

Yall should jump on this. After all Snowball called Connor M. whooooping Floyd's ass not to mention he called the Cavs emphatically sweeping the Dubs this year.

I don't think this kind of travel spot is nearly a big of deal to open the season. If this was mid season and udub was traveling east sandwiched between west coast games that would be far more relevant imo. Starting the season I just don't see the travel being a big factor. Much like Hawaii when they traveled to umass last week and showed well.

Personally I think it a mistake to put much weight in the travel here as we talking about 1st game of the year where everyone fresh and ready to go. Udub has had all offseason to prepare themselves for this, if you have other reasons for the play great but don't think the travel gives Rutgers enough edge to compensate for the fact they greatly overmatched here.. no play for me so gl

Why would that matter? West coast is 3 hours behind the east coast. So a night game is just an evening game for them. Now east to west night games, that's different.

The logic here is damn near as flimsy as it was for mcgreggor too!

Maybe it just me but it takes a lot more than a flimsy travel angle to take a terrible Rutgers team vs a udub team that primed to makes its way back to the final 4..

Scary game in a few aspects involving Huskies
the suspended players could make a dif in them covering the spread(not winning)
and Huskies prolly gonna miss John Ross more than people realize since they lost him to the NFL

    BUT

if I do take Huskies since its early in the season its because ill be fading the Rutgers
Look how poor they do against ranked squads

    Sat, Oct 1 2-3 (0-2)
    Sat, Oct 8 2-4 (0-3)

    Sat, Nov 19 2-9 (0-8)

Not only got outscored 175-0 and shutout in all 3 games but 2 of them were at home

If you want to play the home dog angle take Rutgers 1H for 1 unit and Wash game for 1.5.

Could take a qtr for Wash to realize this is not a auto W. But despite Rut being "improved" on offense I think Wash stymies them. Wash plugged holes on D and seriously doubt Rut can move the ball at all.

i was all over rutgers last year in seattle....... rutgers had some elite nfl talent, i liked the coach. thought washington might have a big let down.

anyway, it was 28-0 after about 10 minutes......

i do like rutgers this year at high end of the spread range. early season games seem to be more susceptible to huge point spread swings for all kinds of obvious reasons.

Rutgers will get blown out by at least 40, but best of luck.

Also, Rutgers doesn't even have enough fans to make a difference.
