In Case You Did Not Know...

The AAC is now 0-3 for the bowl season, with Temple losing to Toledo 32-17, USF losing to Western Kentucky 45-35, and Cincinnati getting humiliated by San Diego State 42-7. They have 3 games left. UConn is a 4 1/2 point dog to Marshall, Tulsa is a huge 14 point dog to Va. Tech, Navy is a 3 point favorite at home against Pitt, and Houston is a 7 point dog to Florida State. Is the AAC the new MAC?

USC fired three of it's coaches on defense, including the coordinator. How will that affect their game against Wisconsin. One misnomer that USC will have to deal with is that Wisconsin is your basic "three yards and a cloud of dust" team. Wisky gained over 1700 yards on the ground, but over 2700 yards in the air this past season. The USC pass defense was like a siv, but games in the Pac 12 conference which featured good QB's at Stanford, Cal, UCLA, Oregon, and other teams was a big reason why. USC is -3 to 3 1/2 against Wisky, and there has been very little line movement.

Both the Pac 12 and SEC have 10 teams playing in bowls, but there is no bowl game featuring both the Pac 12 and SEC. The last time a Pac 12 team played an SEC team was in 2010 when Oregon lost to Auburn in the NC game. That was the first time the Pac 12 and SEC played in a bowl game since 1989, when Washington defeated Florida 34-7 in the now defunct "Freedom" Bowl. It is hard to believe that conferences with great bowl teams like Alabama and USC rarely, if ever, play each other in a bowl game. That is ridiculous IMO.

Youre right Sec like never plays a Pac 10 school, they should hook up non conference sometimes during the season, guess nobody wants to travel that far.

"They have three games left." Then you list four.

    The AAC has FIVE remaining:

    UConn v Marshall
    Tulsa v Va Tech
    Houston v Florida St
    Navy v Pitt
    Memphis v Auburn

Thanks for the reminder about the SEC/PAC12 bowl dry spell. Shocked that Auburn/Oregon was so long ago... seems like only about four years. (Oh... never mind, it was just five, ha.) Still, seems like time flies like crazy, the older you get. Didn't seem so long ago that Ed McAffrey and Fred Taylor were out there, but now it's their very talented sons. I remember, like it was yesterday, the Florida/Penn State bowl game when Spurrier didn't even bother with the pass -- he simply had Fred Taylor running roughshod over Joe Pa's Nittany Lion defense, play after play. Conversely, the Penn State offense couldn't do anything against the Gator D. It was a slaughter.

    Agree...I would like to see a SEC/Pac 12 bowl
match too. Put the SEC in the Sun Bowl vs a Pac 12 opponent.

Tennessee played Oregon, Georgia played Arizona State, A&M and Arkansas schedule one from time to time. Florida & Alabama will never go west of the Mississippi unless it's Texas
