Ohio State should not make it. They just don't deserve it. No way in hell should two Big Ten teams make it.

There is no rule stating N. Carolina cannot jump into the playoff. People can bitch, but it would have been earned.

The bottom line is this. The committee wants Conference Champions, if at all possible. The Pac 12 is basically out. Notre Dame is out. If by some miracle, Florida upsets Alabama, then the SEC is out. A one loss ACC Champ will get in before a 1 loss Big 10 runner up who basically played no one. You guys are easy to sucker in. You are taken in by what you see on T.V, and NOT what really goes on. Your playoff lineup will look like this: Oklahoma, The winner of the ACC Championship game, Alabama (if they lose to Florida, they may as well quit playing football) and the winner of the Big 10 Championship game. There are NO other possibilities unless Alabama loses, and that is NOT going to happen. Get a life dreamers. You think the same way you gamble. Bad.

Ironically, in my eyes, the only team for sure IN right now is oklahoma. Their resumè is complete and it is sufficient. Clemson, Iowa, Bama, Sparty all done with a loss IMO. The answer to alot of these questions will be answered tomorrow with the penultimate release of the rankings, but I suspect UNC will be like #7/8.

So that leaves us with Oklahoma, ACC winner is in, B10 winner is in. Bama wins and they're in. IMO, the real craziness and death threatening chaos will ensue if/when Bama were to lose. As this would leave us with 2 loss stanford (assuming they win P12), one or two loss acc loser, One or two loss B10 loser, the aforementioned OSU, or two loss sec champ who doesn't exactly pass the eye test (UF) all jockeying for one spot. It would be insane, but bama's not losing to that inept offense...I love this shit!!!

Oklahomas season is done. They are legitimate big 12 champs. Beat baylor. Tcu. And osu. All top 10 teams.

What really blows about all this is UNC was supposed to play Michigan this year and Michigan canceled so we had to pick up a cupcake at the last minute to replace them. People say UNC played an easy schedule and they pretty much did, but it's not like they were trying to. We were supposed to have 3 P5 teams in our out of conference schedule. And we did play a lot of bowl teams, just not ranked ones. More importantly, we embarrassed most of them. It's not like we just won those games, some of them were epic smackdowns.

Would really piss me off if they let in two Big 10 teams over conference champ UNC when nobody would be questioning our schedule but for a Big 10 team canceling on us.

[QUOTE=pavyracer;24896299]Are you kidding JJ? They will bypass the ACC champion with 1 loss so that the 3rd best team in Big 10 can go in?

Why not Iowa then if they lose to Michigan St? #2 will be passed by #3 in conference?[/QU ohio state is a money cow. they travel well so they would rather they make it.

the problem you have on your theory is that ohio st lost to a top 5 team in bad weather.stanford lost to a tem in the weaker half of the big ten.Notre dame play similar schedule as clemson and n.c. They would get smoked by the big 10.o.s.u. lost to mich st in inclement weather with banged up rb. The reason they look lost this yr is because herman is at u. of h. I pray they rematch them because ohio st wouldsmoke mich st in rematch.

That's of limited relevance. That's like saying the Committee should overrule the results on the field in the quarterfinals and advance the loser to the finals. Wins and losses matter, and Ohio State doesn't have the wins to match the rest of the field.

Ohio state only gets in IF Clemson loses big and Stanford loses as well. That's their only prayer. The Buckeyes simply just don't have the resume.

Honestly, Clemson should be in with or without a loss. Undefeated and beat Florida St. and Notre Dame. Oklahoma is obviously in. Winner of Iowa/Michigan St. is in. Alabama is in with a win, but with a loss it should go Stanford at #4 with a win over USC or Michigan St. at #4 if Stanford loses. There's no way Ohio St. get in over Michigan St. and if they do then we know the committee is very corrupt and should be abolished. With that said I would definitely prefer to have Ohio State in. Hopefully this weekend goes like this...

Alabama wins, Clemson lose and Michigan St. win. Alabama #1, Michigan St./Oklahoma #2/3?, then Stanford lose opening the #4 spot to Ohio St. to play Alabama in a rematch of last years playoff.

This is what we should all be hoping for. Then obviously Ohio St. is going to have to beat Alabama so that the committee were able to justify Ohio St. getting in again. Which would hopefully lead to Ohio St. vs Michigan St. Final.

playoff is significantly weaker without OSU

The committee wants to give the spot to osu but they can't because it would mean blatant favoritism. They definitely don't want to give it to unc because of their weak schedule and it will allow future teams to schedule patsies and as long ad you win your conference championship, the committee will let you in. Their compromise would be Stanford, of course all this contingent of an upset of clemson.

And that's not relevant, as I said. They had their chance in a de facto playoff game, and they blew it.

And why should Michigan State potentially have to beat OSU again? You can't even argue that they had the advantage of being at home; they beat the Buckeyes in Columbus.

An Oklahoma/Alabama title game would be plenty to satisfy the committee's need for big views and traveling fans. They don't need Ohio State this year, especially since they just won it. What they don't want is for Florida, Iowa and North Carolina all to win. That would be a nightmare for them. This isn't the NCAA basketball tourney where you have 68 teams and you can have a few cinderellas. There's only 4 teams in football to bring in the big money, no time for small market teams and basketball schools. This thing is all about big ratings and big money.

This is 110% accurate. There's a 99.9% chance UNC will also be ahead of Ohio State of they beat Clemson. Only chance Ohio state has is IF Clemson, Bama and Stanford ALL lose.

This is all moot. Clemson and Michigan State win Saturday...there is your playoff. I may do a big money ML parlay with those two...feel strongly about this.
