New Mexico State wins in a crazy turn of events

NM State was driving to try and tie the game

    QB ran it

two guys tackled him, he's on the ground

Millan then deliberately twists the QB's leg

QB leaves with a knee injury. Refs not watching, no flag

Backup QB finishes drive, tie game

    overtime

4th and forever for NM State, out of FG range

    wild completion

    touchdown

    Idaho then needs a TD

    QB throws it

    NM State DB tips it

another NM State DB catches it with his FEET

    game over

    sums up my day well!

started with south florida's meltdown in final minutes, kept it going with georgia forgetting how to catch a football and ended with Idaho. I was lucky to get a few wins in the late games but needed Idaho to go positive on the day. Ending was crazy, I was hoping I'd get saved with another OT win like arkansas last week.

I follow Vandal football very closely...had the over, and was listening to the game on TuneIn...you should've heard the radio announcers when they converted that 4th and forever in OT...damn. Despite winning two in a row before this and having seemingly turned a corner, Paul Petrino needs to lose his job over this. Inexcusable loss to the second worst program in college football. The off the field issues this season should have spelled Petrino's fate before they even began play this season...way too many red flags, and now this epic loss. He must go.

The worst? Hawaii. I follow the Bows closely too. Norm Chow runs a pro-style offense despite having zero pro-level talent (linemen that can pass and run block equally as well, a QB that makes smart decisions, run-blocking TEs, etc)...they lose nearly every game before they even take the field because they misuse their personnel. Sad state of affairs when not too long ago under June Jones, Hawaii had one of the most prolific offenses in history.

Can't wait to hear the postgame host for the Bows get hammered by all the angry calls he's going to get.

Callers are delivering. They're acting like the island is sinking into the ocean...great fan base who cares about the program. Just need the university to invest too.

I remember back when Chow was considered one of the top offensive coordinators in college football and he could never get a head coaching job. Was always a candidate for whatever opening there was but would never be hired. Of course the predicatable
    claims of RACISM would follow.

Now everyone knows why the guy was never landed a HC job until Hawaii. It wasn't because of his Chinese ethnicity. It was because he didn't possess the skills to be in charge of everything. He's personification of the Peter Principle.

What is the Peter Principle you ask? It is a management theory that individuals rise to their level of incompetence through promotion. Chow is a text book example, great coordinator, lousy head coach. Two positions requiring completely different skill sets.

Never thought I'd see the term "Peter principle" on sbr...nice work sir. The team has given up on him now as a result.

    I had Hawaii too.

They are a program you'd think would be respectable and they've been brutal since Jones left

Air Force sucks and they steam rolled Hawaii

Quit betting on shifty teams and bet on great teams that play with a purpose.

There are a few literate participants in this forum, I'm one of them. The Peter Principle has been discussed before. See http://www.sportsbookreview.com/foru...l#post19244128

Yep. Same with Petersen...he's overwhelmed in Seattle.

Really? I don't follow the program close enough to disagree with you but I think it's premature to condemn the guy. He went 8-6 last season and this year hasn't been anything to write home about but it's not been a disaster either at 4-4. He beat USC and drubbed Arizona last week 49-3 so he is doing something right.

Don't jump ship on him just yet. The worst thing a program can do is to keep firing coaches every few years, ask Nebraska. Want to trade Peterson for Riley? I didn't think so.
