Bauta (6 feet 3, 215 pounds), a fourth-year junior who already has graduated, has received scant playing time as a Bulldog. He has played in 14 games in his career, but hasn’t run or passed the ball in seven games this season. Most of his action this season has come as the holder on kicks.
In his career, Bauta has 10 rushes for 46 yards and two touchdowns, and he is 4-of-5 for 48 yards as a passer.

Here is a snapshot. He's been around but never the starter in the mix so that might be a red flag. Although, being coached in high school by a man named - Jack Daniels - earns him some Bro points.

I hate betting these rivalry games but damnitt if the Gators line isn't looking tempting now.

Mark Richt isn't a master of talent observation. He had nick Chubb 4th string last year. He's had guys like knowshon Moreno and Gino Atkins buried on the depth chart. He recruited cam newton to be a tight end. Bauta may be the 2nd coming of Fran tarkenton for all we know

I smell bull$hit coming from Athens. Why in the world would the coaches/players leak this information? Typically zero tolerance within the admin for leaking important info. And a change at qb is as sensitive as it comes. There is no upside except maybe some gamesmanship. I don't doubt UGA put in a package for Bauta during their bye week preparation. However I'm just not buying into making a change at qb and then leaking the information. We shall see tomorrow but I expect Lambert to see the majority of the snaps.

Todd Gurley tweets "Happy for my boy Faton. The hardest working guy I ever been around, now it's finally paying off. Congrats you deserve every bit of it"

I'm really surprised UGA would leak this information for such an important game but it does look as if Bauta will get the start.

Definitely hard to make a case to bet UGA given their struggles particularly on offense and going against a pretty darn good UF defense. However, it aint much easier making a case to bet UF either. I am expecting Richt to coach differently in this one, evidenced by opening up the QB competition 8wks into the season. I think Richt takes some chances today and wouldn't surprise me at all to see him rolling the dice more ie. going for it on 4th down, trickeration, possibly a fake punt or onside kick. I think the QB change has pumped some energy into the players as Bauta has been in the program 4 years while Lambert has only been at UGA for a few months. It's no secret the players wanted Bauta as the starting QB to start the season and most players thought he won the job. And by Richt taking a few more chances, it would energize the players even more. College football is often played and won on emotion. How's that for making a case to bet UGA?

Just think............Georgia was looking really good at the qb position BEFORE the Alabama game. Now this. No Chubb and a 3rd string QB????? I'll ride and die with the Gators and Fred Taylor's son and their non PED BACKUP QB

Florida's QB was 3/12 passing in the 1st half and they are up 20-0.
