Good evening magistrates and noblemen:
I started a thread last year like this with my picks in the Prick contest; Imma start another one. I'll just put it in College Betting b/c I spend most of my time looking at CFB.
So Week 1.... and here we go!
Pick 1: Louisiana Tech vs Western Kentucky over 60.5
Starting out the season well; was all over this game. The total inexplicably dropped from 67 at open to 60 in some places. Hey let them do what they do, I will take Jeff Driskel and Brandon Doughty putting up over 30 each all day long
Pick 2: UMass +13 @ Colorado
This was a 41-38 final last season. UMass returns most of their offense that torched the Buffs last year. They also have the luxury of seeing Colorado game film from last week. This is UMass's 1st game, no such info for Colorado.
Pick 3: Hawaii +41 @ Ohio St
Honestly it just seems like way too many points. VT actually was able to move the ball through the air at times against the Buckeye D. I expect the Rainbows to score 2 or 3 TD's. And I also expect Urban to experiment with different QB's and situations when they have the big lead, which I'm sure they'll get early on.
Pick 4: Texas A&M -29 vs Ball State
Nothing much to say here; Ball State is bad and Texas A&M will have 40+ points by halftime. And they won't let up; they need style points playing in the SEC.
Pick 5 (2x): Stanford -19 vs UCF
Everybody's jumping off of Stanford after that abysmal display last Saturday @ Northwestern.
This team is still full of talent. I don't know why they fell apart last week, but don't expect that lack of effort in a Saturday night game at home. Central Florida did have a top Defense last year, but they're starting a boatload of freshmen in the secondary now. If Stanford's line can hold off the pass rush, I think Hogan turns this into a redemption game of sorts.
Happy Gambling to everyone
