Thursday Game
I locked in La Tech + 2 (25 Units) on Monday.
The line is currently La Tech - 2.
I love La Tech in this spot. Driskel had 5 touchdowns last Saturday and played about a quarter and a half. LA Tech rolled up 587 yards on offense in their opener and know how to light the scoreboard up. The defense for LA Tech also forced 3 turnovers. Many players got rotated in so the starters should be well rested.
Western Kentucky didn't score until the 3rd quarter was almost over on Saturday against weak SEC opponent Vandy. Some rain predicted on Thursday but it should be cleared up by game time.
Good luck fellas. I see La Tech coming away with the victory again like last year.
Few guys are still questionable for WKU too, which is good for us.
Only thing I don't like is WKU gave up how many yards? 400? Last week and still only let in what, 14 points? That's something.
This is not the game preview, it's an article I read about the La Tech vs West Kentucky game on Thursday.
Just sharing the info.
Louisiana Tech vs. Western Kentucky
Why You Need To Care
It may only be Week 2, but Conference USA is already staging one of its most important—and compelling—games of the regular season.
Western Kentucky and La Tech are two of the main contenders from the East and West Divisions, respectively. And whoever is still unbeaten by Friday morning joins Marshall as a co-favorite to capture the league title. The subplot involves the quarterbacks, a sneaky-good duel between record-setting Hilltopper Brandon Doughty and former blue-chip Florida recruit Jeff Driskel. Week 1 left a lot of unanswered questions about both teams; Western Kentucky defeated Vanderbilt, but didn’t look good doing it. La Tech’s rout came at the expense of FCS Southern.
Why Louisiana Tech Will Win
The Bulldogs don’t have many holes, especially with Driskel under center. RB Kenneth Dixon can carry an offense, and the defense is well-fortified upfront and on the back end. Both teams can score. However, La Tech is the more consistent and opportunistic D, thanks in large part to the play of DT Vernon Butler, DE Vontarrius Dora and a secondary capable of confusing Doughty.
Why Western Kentucky Will Win
Doughty is proven. After one game, Driskel still has a lot to prove. It’s one thing to dissect Southern in Ruston, but it’s another thing entirely to go on the road to play a Hilltopper team coming off its best defensive effort in ages. Doughty is in complete control of Jeff Brohm’s attack, and he’s aided by a talented group of backs and receivers.
Player Who Matters
Can anyone on the Western Kentucky D exploit Louisiana Tech rookie right tackle, Shane Carpenter? The Hilltoppers start three seniors up front, including UAB transfer DT Jontavius Morris. After notching just one sack last week, WKU wants to pressure Driskel into the kinds of mistakes that were so common for him in Gainesville.
What’s Going To Happen?
Western Kentucky is going to be tough, even more so at L.T. Smith Stadium. But the defenses cannot be forgotten in a matchup of this magnitude. And La Tech has the more reliable D from back to front. In a shootout dictated by the offenses, the Bulldogs will create a late turnover that seals a pivotal road win.
Louisiana Tech vs. Western Kentucky Score Prediction
