    Visors are great. First you look the part, and then you step into it.

    It's been said that guys starting their first job on Wall St. might as well show up in clown costume because that would be a more accurate reflection of what they know.

    But they don't. Smart guys look the part from day 1 so that the eventual transition into a sharp is seamless.

    Similarly, when a guy walks into a sportsbook decked in his favorite team's gear, he might as well be wearing a Bozo outfit and be smelling like elephant dung. Square City.

    You put on the visor. Wear a loose, comfortable shirt with pockets for easy access to pens and pads - and you keep your head down until you know your shite.

    Follow the rules and maybe you'll become a player. If you don't want to do that just go outside and wait for the clown car to pick you up.

    Shea, it is the minor details like these that many guys are missing and this is why they are losing bettors.

    A lot of guys here can't hack it betting real money and have moved on to betting giant piles of air.

    I actually spent an hour or two the other night rearranging bookmarks and finding new sites with info for easy access.

    I always have a notebook, I just use pencil and black pen. May have to upgrade to various colors.

    Only magazine I have is the Phil Steele guide for College Football. It's a must.

    My golden rule..This theory has put me in the black the past two years

    "If you are going to bet an underdog geting 7 points or less.. bet the money-line" (both college and pro football)

    Most games with spreads under a touchdown, the points do not even matter. Usually if an underdog wins, they win outright. Keep that in mind when betting underdogs.
