    Hawaii Football

Hawaii could go undefeated and not be in a BCS bowl game

I don't think they will go undefeated this year. They lost Glandville as there defensive coordinator, and they do have to actually play on the road this year.

I agree with Dan, they will not go undefeated. They want their Hawaii Bowl anyway, so they have a better shot at winning it.

Hawaiian time, Might I ask how you feel they can go undefeated?

I was actually looking at the schedule, and I really don't see how they possibly could.

hawaii's D actually has been better the last couple of years...if you look at the schemes they play, they give up a lot of yards between the 20's, but have a variety of blitz packages once teams get in the red zone...I believe that Hawaii has hired their old D coordinator (the one that was there like 18 years before Glandville got hired)...they should be the class of the WAC (with respect to Boise and Nevada)...and undefeated season isn't out of the question...

I think that losing Iloa will hurt them more than most people realize, but Colt Brennan + Davone Bess & Rivers are going to be insane...

I think they beat Boise St. at home and win their conference easily. @ SJSU could be an interesting game

Theres no doubt in my mind that Colt Brennan will put up huge numbers this year for the Rainbow Warriors.

I've always wondered why I haven't spent more time handicapping this team as I always turn to Hawaii (when playing at home) as the way to bail me out out of a bad day of college football betting

what's even more crazy about the Hawaii RB situation is that their fullback was drafted too!...I know that Jamaal Anderson's brother transfered, so I'm not sure who they have to run the ball other than the token offensive lineman turned fullback who comes in at the end of blowouts like they always seem to have...

beat Boise at home, most likely...win the WAC easily, I'm not sure...they return Bess at WR, but lose Rivers (who actually was their best receiver in the bowl game vs. ASU)...I believe Ross Dickerson returns as well, but Ian Sample (slot guy) may have graduated...

June Jones is the best playcaller in the NCAA (with all due respect to Steve Spurrier, Mike Leach and others)...

there really is nothing like late night Hawaii games...

They have a weak schedule. they have no big name schools on the schedule. hawaii has 2 divison 1aa coming in, they have boise st and fresno st at home. hawaii blew out fresno last year i can imagine this year at home. SO THIS YEAR HAWAII 13-0 TRUST ME

What are the odds of Hawaii going undefeated this season? I'd bet against it...

    Possible stumbling blocks:
    at UNLV
    at SJSU
    Fresno State
    at Nevada
    Boise State
    Washington

I doubt Hawaii will be favored in all of these games, but even if they are, upsets are possible in any of these games.

They will DEFINITELY be favored in all of those games, but might not win them all. UNLV and Nevada will be trash, SJSU could be tough on the road. FSU, Boise and UW will all be good games at home... I think UW will be the best out of those 3.

Have to watch the early lines and totals at the front end of the season could be distorted. That's true of all lines obviously, but with this Hawaii team in particular imho.
Also they're late, isolated games where public can be prone to playing home team and when Hawaii is the home team, sometimes I think they receive that type of action a little out of proportion to say a continental west coast team in a late night game.
