Did it say he was going to play tight end or was that just a highlight?

They are working him at tight end and H-Back this spring. Will try it out during nonconference schedule to decide whether or not to use him in that way when conference play starts. My guess is he will play tight end this year.

Baylor redshirt senior TE LaQuan McGowan has "slimmed down" to 403 pounds this offseason, per HC Art Briles.

The 6-foot-8 McGowan is shockingly athletic for his size and has, ahem, trimmed down to transition into tight end duties this fall. The former reserve offensive lineman has been clocked at 5.42 40-yard dash and has huge mitts. He could become a valuable role player as an extra blocker and red zone target. However it plays out, we can't wait to watch. "The huge Baylor TE will be a cult hero this season," Bruce Fedman wrote.

Heart attack waiting to happen. Shame on the university for exploiting his size rather than helping him get into healthy shape.

I would not want to be a 6'1 230lb linebacker covering this guy.

Yeah, how many plays a game could this guy be expected to be crisp? Absolutely useless vs. a good defense.

The Jimmy Graham prototype might revolutionize the TE position, but not the Fat Albert kind.

    What? Hey... whoa!!!

Slow down there, pal... sad fact is, you can never really count on fat guys doing appropriate things while celebrating.

    Case in point:

Sumpthin about endorphins & adrenaline mixing with fatty tissue deposits in their corpus callosum.
Hell, it's all very technical (studies suggest excessive "dorito dust" in their hypothalamus, too).

BOTTOM LINE: Do you really want to see LaQuan deep-throating an end zone pylon in 1080p?

somebody take the fork away from that kid. It's poor parenting if you ask me.

that kid needs to be healthy more than he needs football.

you have no shot at the NFL as a TE weighing that much.
