Basel gonna have 11 guys in the box, all they need to do is draw and they are in

The way Liverpool is playing right now, this is a bad bet

Liverpool has a tough time scoring as is, with 11 guys in the box forget about it

But good luck I hope they somehow pull it off because I'm a fan

Liverpool have been piss poor as of late but they've been without champions league football for years now, Basel ain't the best and I expect them to win at home.

I love Dortmund too Tham they should win by a few goals.

Overall -123 is a decent price, Liverpool will have most of the ball and I don't think Basel can contain for 90 mins, don't really like the under.

Worth noting Brendan Rodgers the Liverpool manager is under huge amounts of pressure here, a trip against Man Utd next game he needs this win bad.

All the big guns will play, Gerrard, Sterling, Coutinho etc.

    5 times champions of Europe

how many times we see difficult domestic season then BOOM killing it in Europe? I.E Dortmund?

huge night for the kop they will back there team 150% Basel players won't know what hit them, good side but its not there time to advance its Liverpools they worked hard getting here Rodgers needs the win, no Balotelli which is a good thing your betting them to win by at least 1 goal but this could be a blowout

    Todays referee: http://uk.soccerway.com/referees/bjorn-kuipers/44867/

Loves his cards, maybe this might impact Basel? They will foul and defend at all times maybe a red card for the Swiss side.

    Possible lineups
Liverpool: Mignolet; Johnson, Touré, Škrtel, Manquillo; Gerrard, Henderson, Allen, Lucas, Sterling; Lambert.
    • Out: Balotelli (hamstring), Sturridge (thigh), Sakho (thigh), Flanagan (knee)

Basel: Vaclík; Degen, Schär, Suchý, Safari; Delgado, Frei, Elneny; Gonzalez, Streller, Gashi.
    • Out: Ivanov (knee), Sio (knee)

Basle have played slightly better than Liver, but that's no surprise. I get the feeling its time for Liverpool to pull out a good performance here they have completed more passes which shows with possession they are superior, now look at this match up in Anfield home crowd all the pressure will be on Basle until they score that is, but without the ball how can you?

    Stats show you :-

.its time for Basle to put in a bad performance
.this match up plays into Liverpools superiorityy
.ref loves his cards (Basle have a horrible discipline record)
.the fouls the away side commits will be there downfall i.e referee is strict, set pieces will be there downfall with steven gerrard delivering them.

this side lost both games away do not have a good record, one loss to ludogorets lmao

    Previous meetings
    • In the 2002/03 first group stage, Basel drew 1-1 at Anfield on matchday two. They then led Liverpool 3-0 at home on matchday six only for the Reds to earn a 3-3 draw with a second-half fightback. Steven Gerrard played in both games but was substituted at half-time in Basel.

    • For Liverpool, the 3-3 result was not enough – Basel still pipped them to second place in the group by a point.
    • The lineups at Anfield on 25 September 2002 were:
Liverpool: Dudek, Carragher, Henchoz, Hyypiä, Riise, Murphy, Gerrard, Cheyrou, Heskey (Diouf 71), Owen (Berger 79), Baroš.
Basel: Zuberbühler, Haas, M Yakin, Quennoz, Atouba, Barberis, Cantaluppi, H Yakin (Duruz 67), Esposito, Rossi (Tum 74), Giménez.

    Brendan Rodgers, Liverpool manager
"We would have taken [being in this position] when the draw was made. Tomorrow night will be a great night and, obviously, it is up to us to get the job done. This is a competition that has a great history here for Liverpool and it is a chance for the players to qualify and make sure they write themselves into folklore by winning the game and ensuring they get into the next round."

    2002 classic: Basel 3-3 Liverpool
"I think we've shown in the last number of weeks that we are starting to come together again after a disappointing spell. We haven't had the consistency this season but slowly, game by game, I can see the differences in the team, in the focus and the concentration. And what we have in the squad is quality. We know it's going to be a tough game but we've seen on many occasions what the crowd do here for the team.

We don't need to win the game in the first minute, I think that is the key. European football is technical and tactical and it is understanding that we just need to win the game – we have 90 minutes plus to do that. We have to maintain our patience, play a good technical game – which is what this team has been used to in the past couple of seasons – and, for the tactical element, we always have to have our concentration and focus. If we can do that, I believe we have a great chance, aligned with the supporters and the passion they put in.

We don't underestimate the opponent. Paolo has done an excellent job. They are the top side in Switzerland and they show that in their performances. So, we respect them but our objective is to win the game and our focus and our concentration is purely on ourselves to do that."
