Does Notre Dame Get in the playoffs with 1 Loss?

Or do the voters hold a grudge bc of the way Alabama beat them in the National title a few years ago?

Looking at ND's schedule it seems as tough as anyones.

Not a chance, this was their shot at the brass ring, they missed. It's like Ohio State, once you get labeled weak in Bowl games, you have to run the table to get a shot at the championship.

Considering the refs gift wrapped the win for FSU at the end and ND should really be undefeated right now......

There are too many joke teams in SEC but they 1 win teams in sec are treated highly. They will probably rank all 1 win team in sec over notredame.

The Domer "We Got Screwed" Cry is already started with Twitter and stories abuzz with the replay of the Florida St DB pulling the receiver down and drawing the penalty, ref's got played, etc. Florida State "Where Integrity Goes to Die" was one of the lines I read

Gift wrapped by calling a clear penalty? You can't hold the DB's when the ball is thrown past the line of scrimmage

I found myself rooting for Notre Dame at the end of the game.

    Very strange feeling.

It was a good showing for them. I think they can make the top four, but will need a lot of help.

On a game ending play you dont call that. how many times have i seen pass interference not called on potential game ending plays. A lot

Smokey, it was a penalty. Even Lou Holtz said so.

A lot of football to be played. The Mississippi teams have tough games ahead and they play each other. Bama plays auburn. ND still has to win two hard road games vs Arizona state and USC. Florida state is the only team that has an easy route to the playoffs.

FSU Started blocking at the line of scrimmage. BS call but oh well cant leave the game in the hands of the refs. Hopefully we will see fsu in the playoffs. I think there is a good chance we make it to the playoffs. They arent going to look at NDs loss to bama 2 years ago.

Given the respect the poll voters gave them today, I think they're in a very good position to make the playoffs IF they win out. It was almost as if the polls gave them a tie. The thing they have going for them is a lot of teams in front of them and right behind them have head-to-head games with each other. The SEC is going to beat each other up a bit and they're may only be one left standing at the end of the year, not two.

That being said, that game at Arizona State will be their season. I think they win at USC, but ASU is going to be tough. It'll be a primetime game on ABC and Taylor Kelly may be back by then.

Notre Dame would struggle to win two games in the Sec

No they wouldn't This cliche is so stupid. First of all, I'd take ND any day over Florida, Vandy, Mizzou, Kentucky, LSU and a lot of those other teams. They may lose to some of those teams in the West, but there's more to the SEC than just those teams in the West.

Alabama will be lucky to win the SEC they're nowhere near the talent of the 2012 team. and wasn't FSU favored by that much against ND?

Alabama is nowhere near that 2012 team and Notre Dame is a lot better than the 2012 team. That ND team relied on defense alone...their offense stunk. This Notre Dame offense can move the football. I don't think ND would beat Bama, but I think they'd hang with them more than they did two years ago.

Ty Willingham is on the committee that decides - and the rest are affiliated with one of the 5 superconferences.

    In short, ND not going.

the other receiver from notre dame, fuller, also blocked and was clearly the one who initiated the contact

If they actually called that penalty consistently, they'd have to give the Oregon program the death penalty. The problem with the call was that 99% of the times teams do it and get away with it. Bad luck for the Irish that they got shafted with the 1%.

pass interference calls are too biased and i think they should just do away with the penalty. i think football would be much more exciting if receivers and dbs could just shove each other all the time. pass interference calls decide too many games.
