    Texas A&M @ South Carolina

I have a decision to make regarding this game. I tool South Carolina -9 points on a futures wager. The line is now up to 11 in some Vegas shops. Starting RB Mike Davis has gone from "Probable" to "Questionable" or "Doubtful" for the game, depending on who you want to believe. Spurrier doesn't seem to be too concerned, but he also lost RB Jamari Smith for the season yesterday. Do I grab the 11 and hope for a 10 middle while cutting my potential loss?

Guys. I already have the -9 locked up at the Nugget. Took it as a "Game of the Year" back in June. My question is do I take A&M +11 (MGM/Mirage) and try to middle 10, or just keep Carolina -9.

I say don't get too cute with it. Keep the 9. What are the odds it ends in exactly 10 (rhetorical question).

Spurrier said the same things ly leading up to UNC game that Clowney and Ellington were hurt and might not play...they both played and they both were fine. Wilds is a beast anyway. Texas A&M starting CB is out this game now also.

I wouldn't count on it. First game of the season usually is a snoozer. Offenses trying to figure out how to properly snap the ball. I can easily see this turning into a 24-17 type of game. Which is why TAM will most likely cover.

Yes, I do not see a shoot out either. First game. Penalties and everything else that happens in a first game.

Right. -3800, which will go up to over -4000 by time you guys get down on this. No thanks. You are going to risk everything on that? It is not like South Carolina is playing Dipshit U here. A&M is a respectable team. No way I give 4/1 on this game.

Be careful laying double digits on Cocks. Not saying Cocks won't win bc I think they will but Ol Ball Coach knows how important it is to beat the Dawgs. Plus he hates Georgia. Three straight at home to start, SOS will run the ball and allow Thompson to just manage the game. Get the W will be motto for 1st 2 games. Thompson has game experience but he's never been full time starter. Thompson did play well vs Clemson in '12 but I remember how bad he looked last year vs Mizzou. Connor Shaw was hurting & came off bench to win that one in 2OT. Cocks have SEC best OL but they will miss Shaw's leadership and ability to make plays with his feet. Ol Ball Coach won't show all his cards until Dawgs roll into South Cackalacky week 3. Cocks beat A&M but it's a 27-20 type game.

    Texas A&M +17.5
    Clemson +14.5
    *Decent 7pt 2 team teaser

The game south Carolina backers should be worried about is week 2 with ECU not week 1...they've had all summer to prepare and are better at every position. Aggie defense is a joke.

If 3800 wins 1000, the line definitely is not -3800

    Texas Am @ South Carolina

I did not hear the news on Mike Davis. Thanks for that input. I see the line dropping.. Is 57 too steep for an opening week Total? Seems to me that 57 may be too steep with a major Rb out for the Cocks. My vision is that this will be a defensive struggle. Hot and Humid evening cramps etc.

I'll be taking the Cocks. Not worried a bit about Tex A&M. I went to South Carolina's season opener against NC State a few years ago when Russell Wilson was a Freshman. That place was rocking. Not exactly the place you want to break in a new QB. SC's defense will eat Tex A&M's QB alive.

SC will no doubt be the public play I think. I still like them at -10 (will buy the hook). With -9 I'd say definitely let it roll.

ofcourse it will be the public play and for some reason as crazy it sounds that public play stuff seems to matter in college football.

Honestly i'm not excited about this game though. I'm a big Gamecocks fan and they always underwhelm early in the season.

most boring football game i ever saw was south carolina vs nc state in russel wilsons first ever college game

i dont get the whole hedging thing when the line moves a point or two even on key #'s, i get it in the rare times it might move big and hit on key numbers like maybe you had a team -9 and somebody got hurt and it moved to -14 and you took the dog, but to have a game at -9 and want to hedge out at -10 or -11 i dont see the logic? 10s a key number but for 2 points i dont know why you would do that. am i wrong on this?
