Yeah, traditionally they don't as far as I remember, but I think this one is going to be close, so I like Pitt too.

Pitt usually falls below season expectations, and I think this is why they've underperformed in bowl games so far. This year, they did right about as well as people thought they would, so I can see this being different. It almost helped them this year that they don't have a superstar player on their team, or an overhyped 5-star recruit like Tyler Palko that inflates their expectations. I mean Aaron Donald is awesome, but nobody really knows about him. I think Pitt has better players across the board, and now has the right direction and cohesiveness to pull off a bowl win against a MAC team.

I like +4.5, and I think the ML at +185 has really good value.

This is pretty much a home game for BG, a lot of kids on the team are from Michigan, BG wins the game I think but 4.5 is too many points 31-28 BG

Pitt is 2-3 in their last 5 bowl games, but were routed in their past two. Bowling Green has won their last 5 games, including a route of Northern illinois in the Mac CC game. The line has dropped from -6 to -4.5. One other thing. The designated "visiting" teams, the teams that wear white, are 0-6 so far this Bowling Season. The favorites are 3-3 ATS so there is nothing to be gained from that. Pitt is the designate "visiting team" in this game.

I think BG is going to take Pitt apart guys.

BG's OFEI much better than Pitt's-----

Pitt 2-4 their last 6 games.

BG is 5-0 their last 5.

In 4 of their last 5 games, BG gave up only 1 score.

I don't see one area where Pitt has an advantage.

    Competition and better players.

Now for the reasons you listed Sam, I didn't go big on either bet, but I'm still backing the better overall team IMO.

I can't argue the competition angle, but Pitt looked awful down the stretch.

That performace against Syracuse was downright ugly.

I think Pitt is going to have to score 24-27 points to cover here-- and I don't see it. I don't think Savage can deliver that kind of total.

Unable to erase the memories of Pitt's last two bowl game meltdowns against SMEW and Ole Miss... already tossed my so-called *air bet* on Bowling Green -4.

Everytime I look at this game it's Bowling Green in a close game.

Most of my gang like Pitt....my cards project BG at over 57%.

Got another day for wagering...play, pass, or no clue.

I remember, I had the over in that game.

They still won, against a bowl team no less, so I'll hide behind that for now.

    Tom Savage

I am looking to go BG, too, however, is there anything to be said about Dave Clawson leaving the team and heading to Wake? Will that be a distraction or rallying point? Also, typically, I took at Tom Savage and regardless of stats (21 td's, 9 ints), I see him as the guy who did not beat out Chas Dodd, who has been outplayed by the HORRIBLE, Gary Nova of Rutgers!! Just as important, 6 of those td's were against a leaky Duke defense in September! Take those away and we have a fairly pedestrian 15 td's and 9 ints!

Incidentally, with that said, Savage does have some solid stats: 10 td's 2 ints in road/neutral site games and 7 td's 2 ints in non conference games. I guess all that says is the likelihood of Savage being the biggest reason for losing isn't as likely as the surprisingly ineffective (for Pitt standards) running game.

Just food for thought. I'm still going BG, which is now -5 (5dimes).

Hard to say. So far, teams like that this year are 1-1 in bowl games (USC and Boise).

Donald is a monster, single handily won that game for Pitt against Syracuse. Guy was in the backfield literally every play. Offense is iffy but I think they get it done. Nice writeup Ralphie, like he said, Pitt has the better players.

We have already seen Pitt this season when they had the overall advantage in talent. Against Old Dominion, they only won by 11 @ home and flat out lost to Navy!! It's easy to blame the awkward Navy offense, but it was a loss against lesser talent, nonetheless. ODU has a high powered passing game like BG. BG has better players than ODU.

Pitt has their moments; unfortunately, those moments are best used at home. This is a neutral site game which favors the BG players who live nearby.

No one mentioned Under 50.5 in this game. I don't see these offenses putting up much. This matchup has like a 20-14 final written all over it IMO. Real snooze fest

Well you'll like +7 a lot then, because the line is almost there.

And stop balancing out the hype! I love the fact that most of SBR is on BGSU. Leave me on my island!!

if BG covers and N ill wins I could net 5K from bowl contest.
N Ill has 89% of public with BG at 77%. Simulating 1000 games N Ill won 62%, BG only 51%.

On Pitt +210/+7. I just don't understand why they're such big underdogs. They very well could be the best team BG plays this year.
