My opinion on this game has been shared several times on different threads, as I feel the number is right where it should be. I also feel if you are considering playing this game, play it in in game progressive wagering, so you can get a feel of the flow of the game.

You don't see a way for Toledo's defense to get 1 more stop than NIU's? Halfway through the 4th quarter last week Ball State was driving down the field to take the lead. Akron only lost by 7, also on the road. Iowa only lost by 3, Idaho by 10, Eastern Illinois by 4. It's not like NIU has been rolling through good teams. I don't know why it's so hard to see the chance of 1 break going Toledo's way at home, so they end up winning.

This game is going to be decided by a 4th quarter turnover, or a some bad officiating call. Both of these teams have good defenses, with Northern Illinois having the better offense with Lynch as there quarterback, but do not think for a second that Toledo is not prepared to stop him. They have been dreaming for this game to come, and now it is reality for them, not to mention a home game for them in a venue that is difficult for a visitor to play in.

Again, watch the flow of the game, and place your plays accordingly through in game progressive wagering if your Sportsbook is offering it.

That could absolutely happen, and I'm not saying NIU won't cover or that it's a bad bet to take them. I was just surprised by your previous comment, because I can see so many ways NIU could lose. As good as Lynch is, there are so many things in this game out of his control. 1 RB/WR fumble, 1 tipped pass that gets picked, 1 muffed punt is all it could take for a Toledo win.

Football outsiders ranks toledo as the better team. So you're getting points with the statistically better team at home.

    That sounds peculiar.

Yep. Sagarin and Massey also give Toledo a slight edge. Probably a no play for me.

Agree that the line is right where it should be.

Think this game is a total coin flip...however as "square" as it may be to play Northern Illinois, they always seem to get it done. They have been covering even with books knowing people will bet on them every game. Therefore, small 1 unit play for me on N Ill just because they have proved to win every game the past two years, even against other good underrated, smaller schools like Toledo.

Wouldn't give much weight on home field in these types of games. NIU has actually played better on the road most of the season and these games don't attract large crowds that add too much influence to the outcome. But agree Toledo could be the better team. They have had a much tougher schedule early on.
