Big boy football will be played tonight. There won't be a lot of fancy stuff in this game with misdirection, spreading out defenses or no-huddle. The game will be won in the trenches. Both teams want to control the game by running the ball, mixing in the pass. Defenses have to stop the run and pressure the quarterback. It's good ole basic football pure and simple.
The third down battle will be worth watching throughout the game...especially when LSU has the ball. The Tigers lead the SEC and ranks second in the nation in third-down conversions. Alabama, however, has the best defense on third down in the SEC and is ranked seventh nationally.
Both teams have the talent, experience and coaching to win. Home field advantage hasn't meant much lately with the road team winning the last two. I lean Alabama in a low scoring game. Who do you like men....we're two hours from kickoff?
