coaches by year ATS records 2013

    ark
    ark st
    aub
    bc
    cal
    cincy
    col
    fiu
    G st
    idaho
    kent state
    ky
    lt
    ncs
    nev
    niu
    nms
    ore
    purdue
    sf
    sjsu
    somiss
    syr
    temple
    tn
    tt
    utahst
    utep
    wis
    wky
    wm

there's the list of new coaches this year... i have them coming in at 52-61 ATS......

but i think you can differentiate them by whether the coach left voluntarily or not. some are a bit hard to tell. UTEP and Purdue are 2 that come to mind

anyway, here' the list of 1st year coaches 2 games above 500 ATS..

    syracuse 3-1
    TT 3-1
    wisc 4-0 (wow, surprises me)
    utah state 3-1
    col 2-0
    ore 3-0

and that is all the ones that are two games above. in each case, except colorado, the coach voluntarily left for another opportunity. not totally sure about TT but the coach i think officially resigned to go to cincy. maybe someone can chime in.

list of coaches 2 games under 50% ATS

purdue 1-3 (retirement or forced retire?)
    fiu 0-4
    lt 1-3 (left better)
    idaho 1-3
    nms 0-4
    kent state 1-3 better...
    ark 1-3
    cal 0-3

so 5 or 6 of the 8 losing programs had their coaches pushed out.

    2nd year coaches....

    i have 25 such teams at 52-34 ATS. 60%?? ...

bad ATS: fresno state. only team 2 games more lost than one. bit of a strange one but yes they are 0-3 ATS.

good ATS: houston, ohio state, fau, toledo, colorado state, ucla, wsu, TA&M

year 3, that i think phil steele thinks is the key year, is 32-32 a real mix..... good ATS: minnesota, ntexas, utsa, ball..... bad ats: tulsa, vandy, florida,.... no real insight on these. only minnesota (good) and tulsa (bad) really stand out to me.
