    1) Alabama -7.5 @ Texas A&M: You're crazy if you don't think the Tide will be ready for this one. Bama has been waiting a very long time for this game. I'm not saying A&M won't be able to put up any points but they will most certainly have trouble against this great defense. The bigger issue will be stopping Bama. Big day for TJ Yeldon. Tide win 38-20.

    2) UCF +5 @ Penn State: The Nittany Lions are going through some growing pains with a freshman quarterback at the helm. They struggled against a lousy Syracuse team and it took a while to get going against Eastern Michigan before pulling away. UCF is solid year in and year out and I expect them to give PSU a test here and even have a shot at pulling off the upset.

    3) Washington @ Illinois +10: Washington was extremely impressive in their rout of Boise State but I think Illinois is a good team or at least much better than their 2012 record would indicate. Won a nice bet on them outright last week over Cincy and going to ride them again here. Scheelhasse is a versatile quarterback and the Illini are beginning to build some momentum under the second year coach Beckman.

I'll post official plays closer to gameday but these three look awfully good to me.

This bama game is setting up into a classic vegas game.

Bama wins, TAMU covers, public wonders what happened.

i like the bama play. huge revenge/focus spot and i think johnny manziel has had way too many distractions..........

these "omg, he's coming back for another season. imagine how much better he'll be" spots never seem to work out. see clowney too. too much hype/pressure/distraction i think.

psu/cf i'd probably play UNDER rather than either team.

washington and illinois are both such wildcards as rapidly improved teams. i'd say take the home team and washington might have some letdown after boise win. plus washington is big HFA team and thus might get too much general credit for being a good team in general. probably NO PLAY for me though

Again, people should learn where games are being played. Washington-Illinois is being played in Chicago, NOT Champaign. A neutral site game. Sure Illinois will have a majority of the crowd pulling for them, but there will be a lot more Husky fans at that game than people think.

Be sure to let the board know, when you do make "official" plays, if you have a play that's being pounded more than the others. Don't want be past posting like you did last week. And if you, for some inexplicable reason do so, try not to be so defensive this time.

I'm sure if you reread this thread, with new eyes, you'll see why it looked so bad. You're better than that.

Good luck this week! Crush it.

i cant agree with that. A line is not accurate if the spread is 7.5 and the underdog wins by 10.

and what i mean by the public percentage stuff is that if say 80% of bets were on Texas A&M then the +7.5 would appear to be bait for the trap..

Saban won't need to be aggressive. The Bama running game won't be stopped and it will set up big plays downfield.

Obviously you have no idea about how the line works. First, it does NOT matter how many people wager on a game. What matters is how much money is wagered on the game. Obviously many of you people simply cannot get that through your heads. Forget about Joe Pub. You guys are so easily played by this information.

Next. There is no such thing as a non-accurate line. All the line reflects is the public's opinion about a certain game. A line is set because the linesmakers think that the number they set will get the most action. They could care less about who is playing who.

Next, NO ONE in here can find a trap game. If you could, it would NOT be a trap game. Give it up people. You do not have the necessary information to deceipher a trap game. According to some of you, every other game is either a trap game, or a game that is rigged, one way or another. Now we know why the vast majority of you people continually lose money year after year.

Try actually figuring out who has the best team and who is going to win the game and forget about everythihng else. You guys get so involved in the lines that you completely forget about the game itself. you forget about the players, injuries, the chaches, etc... Again this is why 85% of people who wager on football lose. You guys can be led astray so easily by any sharp who wants to set up a "bait and switch" and other tricks used to take your money from you.

to each his own. there is some truth to what you say.. however like
JJ said knowing who the public is on is just one of many tools

And as far as a trap game i mean sometimes vegas has a pretty good
idea of what the result is going to be and sometimes they throw a number
out there to steer you in a certain direction...

Vegas knows that adding the hook to the 7 points will scare many bettors off Alabama...

i got a lot more work to do on this game but i'm starting to lean Bama
