Any experiences with counterfeit money ?

Is it worth taking the risks ? I personally wouldn't do it tho.

A cabbie gave me some fake 20's as change in Vegas 3-4 years ago. I was shooting craps and the dealer kept looking at them, called over the pit boss, then security. Took me to the back where I had to give them as many details as I could remember and sign a statement for the Secret Service. Freaked me out because you go down this long hall and come to a door with a small window. When it opens there's a bench in the corner with restraining straps. I was like f*ck!

They told me they were the best fake 20's they'd seen in Vegas. I said "you must get this a lot" and the guy in charge told me it only happens about 10x a year in all of Vegas because it's so hard to pass counterfeit bills. Just my luck.

with all the easy ways out there to make money like compound interest, actually getting a job, short selling stocks, why would anyone want to commit a crime to make a few bucks. If you put as much time into counterfeiting money as you do to become a elevator mechanic you can be making 100,000 a year in no time.

i was actually thinking a casino would be the best place to pass off counterfeit bills. In my experiences at poker rooms and at Indian casinos they rarely ever glance at the money you give them before they shove it in the pit with all the other clean money. hundreds of people sat at that table everyday so if you did that i wud assume it wud be easy but i guess not.

I seen about five bad bill. One was very good work, the others sloppy. Most counterfeits are bleached fives which are printed over as hundreds.

just make a bunch of 100 dollar bills, and drop them off in all the ghetto areas. Then watch all the crazy stories in the news the next day that stem from your doing.

Once yes! But everything is on tape and once the counterfeits are discovered in the count room you're a marked individual. OTB on a busy day is a better option as its less likely to be traced back to the person passing it. The old saying crime pays till you get caught, then you pay. Not worth it!

Any half decent cashier will be able to tell instantly if a bill is suspect .. I worked as a foreign currency cashier in the UK for a few years and we confiscated counterfeit bills almost daily .. as an amateur - you have almost no chance of creating something that could get past even a half awake still-drunk cashier ...

The real good counterfeits are big business .. I was doing the job in the early 90's when the "super 100's" were just starting to make an appearance ... I had literally tens of thousands of dollars come through the location I was working within the space of a couple of weeks in the mid 90's ... almost impossible to detect ... at one point we had to start taking the money and issue receipts until the bills were cleared before we could pay out on them ...
