The most misleading statistic... when it comes to over/unders....

it points for and against, especially in college football. I have built a computer program that predicts over/under scores and doesn't take scoring into account at all. The beauty of the points scored and given up is that Vegas has to take it that number into account. It is a weak spot for them.

Pace or the amounts of plays that a teams runs in foots is what to pay attention to. Points for and against happen. Yet a stat that simplistic doesnt not take into account if the TD's happened defensively, offensively, or on special teams. Another stat that you can gain a minor edge with is average yards gained/allowed on Punts/kickoffs. How far a team has to travel to get the the end zone MATTERS. Yet you will never see the average joe take that into account and I do not think that oddsmakers are either.
