    Northern Iowa +16.5

They always give ISU problems. ISU's defense missing all their key guys. Rebuilding season. QB and HB's ok, no WR's.

Utah State +4.5 ... Utah State shouldn't regress to much from last year, and I don't see enough improvement from Utah from last year to see why they should be favored. I know they are at home, but I think USU is the better team. Plus Utah State won last year

Central Florida -28 ... UCF won this game by 42 last year at Akron, and UCF should be the 2nd best team in the American Conference this year behind Louisville

UMass +44.5 ... Wisconsin blew no one out last year, and with the new coaches, new QB, new running backs, etc. I just don't see a 45 point win for the Badgers to open

Northern Illinois + 6 ... NIU wants to make a statement early after that embarrasing Orange Bowl loss, and return enough to make that statement

Alabama -19.5 ... Virginia Tech just isn't that good, and we will find that out in this game.

Western Kentucky +4 ... Why the hell is Kentucky favored? WKU won this game last year and is still the better team with the better coach

Oklahoma State -13 ... This will be a 28+ point rout for Oklahoma State. SEC bias is the only reason the line is where it is. Oklahoma State is leagues better than Mississippi State who could be the worst team in the SEC this year.

Rice +28.5 ... Rice has enough offense to keep up, and if A&M gets up early could rest starters in the 2nd half which will allow Rice to get back on the board. Think Oregon's non conference games last year which they never covered due to backdoor covers after letting starters rest in the 2nd hafl.

UL-Lafayette +14 ... ULL may be the better team. They return a lot from last year and have an under rated coach. Arkansas is transitioning in too many ways and is ripe for the upset. ULL money line is also intriguing here

Wyoming +22 ... Do not sleep on Wyoming, they had a lot of key guys injured last year. They have a strong run defense and Nebraska is breaking in some new guys.

New Mexico -6 ... UNM is my most improved team for 2013. Their triple option offense will be a lot better this year with a more improved passing game

TCU +6 ... Not a homer pick, I just don't see this game being decided by more than a TD either way. So take the points. Defenses for both teams are too strong. TCU will have the better offense though.

Boise State + 3 ... I warned you all last year, do not pick against Boise State in these types of games.

Ohio +18.5 ... Ohio is better than you think, might be best team on Louisville's schedule. They will cover

North Dakota State + 17 ... for some reason K-State struggles against FCS teams, and with NDSU being the strongest one and KSU breaking in some new guys, no reason to think why KSU will blow them out

Northern Iowa +16.5 ... No team besides Louisiana Tech lost more to graduation than Iowa State last year. Which is why I like UNI and the points

Air Force -17.5 ... Air Force's triple option always blows out inferior FCS opponents. -17.5 is too low, should be close to -28... best line on the board

Vandy/Ole Miss game should be a real good one ...out of no where Ole Miss wins 7 games last year under newcoach Freeze he did it with a bunch of freshman all over the field he recruited very heavy Ole Miss on the rise. Vandy comes into the season after finishing 23 in the APP they returned a lot fo key players There is a QB battle going on but the Defense is solid and in tact its run by Bob Shoop they should have a huge year. This game is a pk I want to read a little on the QB situation at Vandy if it looks ok I like Vandy here at a pk I dont see them losing ground off that 23 spot they earned last year

Maryland was down to 5th string QB Linebacker Shawn Petty....Starting QB C J Brown retuns from his acl injury and if he stays healthly the Terps should be bowl bound for their final season in the ACC

That's pretty crazy. Didn't they lose their QB though? AKA their entire rushing offense?

-17.5 is too low, should be close to -28... best line on the board
nice write-up frogs, agree with you on several of these

LSU takes care of TCU in the second half. Anything under 7 is a good wager.
'Bama is giving away too many points. It's bak to "beamer Ball" for Va. Teh, which means using the clock, a stingy defense, and special teams to keep the game lose. 'Bama is NOT as good as everyone thinks.
UCF -28. Akron loses their QB, which was most of their offense last season. UCF just pulls away from them.

LSU and the Hurricanes cover easy. Still early though.

Hawaii/USC ... What does Hawaii have? This has to be a focus game for them no? USC thinking vacation?

FAU/Mia ... Where is the Mia program? This game should be humid/hot/humid and more??

Akron/CFU ... I don't care how hot it gets in Akron it ain't Central Florida hot/humid.

Wash St/Aub ... See above. This has to be a weather shock for WS no?

Careful with LSU, they have internal problems.

I don't like how people are jumping on that LSU line. Plus if you really like LSU you can get them at -4 in other places.

But take my word for it I know TCU more than others on this board. And it's not a homer pick, I picked against TCU the past 2 seasons more than I played then. But LSU is not the type of team that TCU has trouble with. TCU's defense struggles with teams that have a strong pocket passing QB and a solid passing offense that can get rid of the ball quickly to where pass rush doesn't affect them too much. LSU with Mettenberger is not that team.

TCU always leads the country in rush defense, even in the face of strong rushing attacks like 2010 Wisconsin or 2009 Clemson or Texas last year. Teams that run the ball first do not succeed against TCU. You have to be able to throw the ball to score on TCU's defense and LSU does not have a passing offense to fear.

TCU will have its own problems on offense, as the LSU defense will be solid. I don't see TCU being able to run the ball in this game, even with their strong stable of running backs. TCU offensive line is a big question mark. But TCU does have strong passing/receivers to at least keep LSU's defense honest. I see a low scoring affair, but I give the edge to TCU because I think they matchup better and have the better coaching/quarterback in this affair.

All the value is taking TCU and the points because this has all the makings of a 17-13 or 20-17 game. Those 6 points are valuable.

Key stat: TCU has not lost a game in which they gave up more than 150 yards rushing since 2007. In other words, you have to throw the ball to beat them.

I actually like TCU alot going into this season.....LSU is always tough and I can't fade SEC out of conference but I don't blame people for thinking this one will be close

haven't really looked into it too much this year yet....

but washington -3 vs. boise stands out.... boise wins, washington underachieves. although wash has some top nfl prospects and has had good recruiting the last couple of years..... still i'd say boise has been on a completely different level than the huskies (who are my team)

buffalo has some top talent, including importantly at running back. might keep the ball away from ohio state. i like the 33 points.

i have seen some good optimism about colorado state. it's pickem vs. colorado which was a disaster last year

vtech +19.5 at home vs. alabama seems like too much.

rice +28.5 vs. TAM seems good. manziel with a ton of distractions. rice has been able to score alot in recent years (some rough patches last year for sure)

i like the insights.... i see some respected analysts calling for miami-florida to have a great season... and either fiu or fau is going to be pitiful i think. can't remember which.

also, i think people think wsu will improve like crazy this year with leach, but i tend to agree with you on auburn.

It's a neutral game....chick fil a kickoff classic in the Georgia Dome

Va Tech is probably going to get smoked, they have a QB capable of doing some big things but they're overmatched badly in the trenches......Bama or nothing
