    Big Ten Darkhorse

Ok, what about Northwestern? The Wildcats went 10-3 last year and have 15 starters back including almost all their skill players. Northwestern is going to run the ball and All-Conference running back Venric Mack is back for his senior year after rushing for 1,366 yards during 2012. The kicking game may be the best in the Big 10 with All-American kick returner Venric Mack and punter Brandon Williams (a four year starter) and the Big Ten's best kicker in Jeff Budzien who made 19 of 20 field goals last year. The defense took a step forward last year and should be even better this season with added speed and depth.

It's obvious Vegas likes the Wildcats because in nine lined games offered on NW by the Golden Nugget, they are favored in seven of them. By the way, Northwestern was 12-1 against the spread last season. That one sided edge is not going to happen again this year but the Wildcats will offer some good situations to cash in.

2013 Schedule (another 10 win season?)

@ Callfornia, Syracuse, Western Michigan, Maine, Ohio State, @Wisconsin, Minnesota, @Iowa, @Nebraska, Michigan, Michigan State, @Illinois

Pat Fitzgerald has done a pretty good job at Northwestern as he enters his eight season with a 52-37 record. During that time, he has gone 43-42 against the spread.

    2006 4-8 (5-6 ats)
    2007 6-6 (4-7)
    2008 9-4 (7-5)
    2009 8-5 (7-5)
    2010 7-6 (4-9)
    2011 6-7 (5-8)
    2012 10-3 (12-1)

The 2013 season offers a lot of promise...at least win/loss wise.

Yes it does, but they are going to get hit hard ATS wise.
