    Oregon Ducks 'Paddling' Upstream

The University of Oregon and the NCAA have reportedly agreed that the school's football program committed violations in recruiting during former coach Chip Kelly's tenure as head coach. According to The Oregonian, the university has proposed a two-year probation for the football program as well as a reduction of one scholarship in each of the next three seasons as self-imposed sanctions.

Kelly went 46-7 and led Oregon to a BCS bowl game in each of his four years with the school. Maybe now we know why Kelly was so eager to bail to the NFL (Philadelphia Eagles).

    Stay tuned.........................

    more on the Ducks..........

Oregon and the NCAA have failed to come to an agreement on the matter and the case is expected to go before the infractions committee at some point this year. The NCAA began looking into possible violations following reports about payments Oregon made to recruiting services, including $25,000 payment to Willie Lyles and Houston-based Complete Scouting Services in 2010. Lyles had a close connection with an Oregon recruit.

The NCAA probably laughed at Oregon offering to give up one scholarship for the next three years. Yeah NCAA, we've got a second team field goal kicker we'll give you the first year, washed up punter the second, and we'll run off a deadbeat the third year.

Oregon will lose 3-5 shcolarships for 3 years when all is said and done. Oregon will start a slow descent into the middle of the Pac 12 North pack, starting with this season. Oregon is a very good wager away, and a very good fade at home.

Another Oregon homer. Oregon has NEVER gone undefeated and NEVER won a National Championship. The NCAA is going to nail them and all of you Oregon homers who suddenly disappeared when Stanford defeated them last year in Eugene. Get used to it. Good teams? Yes. NC Caliber teams, NO. When you win a NC, then you can talk to the big boys. Until then, We will opt to ignore such ridiculous boasts. Get a life.
