    Meineke Car Care Bowl

    Saturday, December 30, 2006

NAVY (9-3) at BOSTON COLLEGE (9-3)

Look for Navy to keep the ball on the ground the entire game. That great running game is going against one of the nation's best rush defenses. BC is also +15 in turnover margain on the season.

Rolling with the chalk here and taking Boston College. Also a play on the OVER will be good for me in this bowl.

Too many variables here for me to make a play. I would lean to Navy based more on motivation than anything, but it's hard to predict which BC team shows up for this game. They are capable of winning by 20 or losing outright.
Best of luck with whoever you play in this one.

    I was leaning Navy . . . mostly because of BOS HC O'Brien departure . . . I'm staying off this matchup . . .

Even with the coaching change I too would have to side with the chalk in this game.

BC has been great in bowl games (6 straight wins), but the coaching situation worries me with the interim coach plus BC's kicker is suspended for the game.

BC's defense is pretty good, but I think Navy can spring the upset here, so I'm liking the +7.

Compare these teams schedules: BC beat bowl teams:
    1)C. Mich; 2)Clemson, 3) BYU; 4) V. Tech; 5) Fla St,
    5) Maryland. Lost to Bowl teams Miami (by 3) and Wake (by 7).

Navy lost to all three bowl teams they played including 34-0 Rutgers and 38-14 N. Dame.

Unless unmotivated, love BC here. GL~

I have to play BC here. Tougher schedue, better quality athletes. Navy coach was quoted as saying he worried about BC's size of the lineman. This could be a huge concern for a running team. I just don't think the number is high enough here, so once again if BC shows up to play and actually wants to play they should handle Navy here..

    BC- 7.5

BC defense is horrible. Coach looks like a movie extra.

Note To Self... Any Time A Team Has an Interem Head Coch bet against that team. Alabama, Boston College are there any other bowl teams missing its head coach ?

No they didn't. That was totally a fluke score, and not indicative of how the game was played at all. I think the fact remains that betting a team with questions at head coach is a very risky proposition.
