    I found an Interesting Stat..on Neutral site/Road........Red Zone Defense

    Alabama     allowed out of 14 tries 9 scores 7 TD and 2 FG 50% TD ratio ...7 TD out of 14 allowed Red Zone posessions
    ND allowed out of 13 tries 9 scores 2 TD and 7 FG 15% TD tatio ...2 TD out of 13 allowed Red zone posessions

    Basically this means that if Alabama gets to red zone, they will most likely settle for a FG, because ND
    allows only 15% TD in the Red zone..But if ND can manage to get to Red Zone of Alabama, they will score a TD every other time.. That is a huge difference...Huge advantage ND..

    my bad then. I did not read it properly. Still I do not believe in those kinds of stats, because it is impossible to factor in all the variables that those types of stats withhold. Was it the defense that made the stop? Or did the QB over throw a wide opened receiver? So many things to consider. Including the strength of the offense. In my opinion both of these teams are over rated, and so is their strength of schedule. NCCAF had a down year with a bunch of mediocre teams. No team was much better than any other team.

    I am not arguing with you about that. I think they are both very over rated, but two teams have to play in the game, and these two are just as deserving as any other two would be in my opinion.     People don't seem to mention that Everett Golson is not that great of a QB. People keep saying how Alabama struggled with JFootball, but Golson is not even close to Johnny. He's not a top tier college running quarterback. He's an average at best quarterback.

    The Notre Dame RB is also vastly overrated. Theo Riddick wouldn't get any reps if he played for Alabama.

    Lastly, The Alabama defense is better than Notre Dame's defense. Plain and Simple.

    Notre Dame is one hell of a well coached team, but they should have lost to Stanford, they should have lost to Pittsburgh.

    Great accomplishment to make it here and I'm sure they'll be back, but Alabama is at another level.
