he just got to st louis and they've improved a bit. his son is a DB at auburn, but he's never coached college before. he didn't want the usc job years ago despite being a star there, but he'd take the auburn job?

    petrino is the likely guy.

Fisher did not say 'No' when contacted by AU over the weekend... and purportedly he is the TOP candidate

All of that doesn't mean he is truly interested. AU is shooting for the moon ?

Auburn is an attractive place for some established coach whose fan base is getting antsy so he'll have about a 2-3 year honeymoon period to start over fresh. Other than that, who the hell would want to go there now.

Cant see why Fischer would want to go there. Good job in NFL, Rams improving to a degree. Auburn is tough job with tons of competition. College job is year round. Competing in SEC is brutal, especially trying to recruit in state of Alabama right on Georgia border. And the school spent its player incentive chest almost completely on Newton a few years back.

Only benefit to Auburn job is fan base would be in love with him from the get go and if he turned it around could be a hero.

Other than that why the hell would he want that job. Auburn job is perfect for someone like Petrino, flawed coach but generally produces winners. Just give him a hot secretary and maybe a motorcycle pass and it will work perfectly.

You have a better chance of growing a third arm out of your testiculars sack than Auburn has of hiring Jeff Fisher.

    It isn't happening.

you will see quite a few new coaches in the sec next year... tenn/aub/ark ... none of which will make a difference in the next 2-3 years as they will all still get shitkicked by bama/tamu/uga/fla ... and then the fans will be crying like little bitches for another new head coach... sec is cutthroat son

    Are on AU's wishlist
Auburn fans and administrators always have WISH LISTS.

Hell, I'm certain some Auburn fans think they could get Saban, Belichek, Harbaugh, Sean Payton, and Chip Kelly.

The reality is they are going to end up with a current Sun Belt coach.

Auburn is shopping for a Lexus with a 1970s Chevelle budget.

Gus Malzahn coming back, Charlie Strong...someone with some previous conference experience and bottom line...who Pat Dye can control as the puppet master with his hand up Jay Jacobs assshole.

I do not see him leaving the NFL ever

Who knows though. For the right money anyone can be gotten I guess

He is a highly respected coach in the league

Very underrated. He is one of the best

Like I said. Current Sun Belt coach.

Malzahn makes too much sense though for Auburn.

How funny would it be if they rehired Terry Bowden?

Underrated? I've thought for years he was overrated. What has he done, taken one team to Super Bowl and made a championship game one other year?

He clearly had talented teams with their regular season performance, but always got bounced in the playoffs.

He is 5-6 in the playoffs and had a .535 winning %. A little less than a 9-7 record per year.

What happened after he was let go by Tennessee?

Washed out in two more places in what, a year?
