    Tuesday Night College Football Announcers

    These guys are hilarious:

"Is that reviewable? I don't know"

"It looks simple, and really it is simple, sometimes it's just not easy"

    After a 9 yard gain on 1st and 10:
"Looks to be about 3 or 4 yards short of the first down"

Just awesome. These games should have their own thread every week consisting entirely of really stupid things these guys say.

    Dr, preach on.

It's a joke. And guys like Jesse Palmer, and David Pollack are even a bigger embarrasment.

The age of great announcers in college and the NFL (Curt Gowdy, Pat Summerall, Keith Jackson, Charlie Jones) is long gone.

That had to be the worst 4th down play call in the history of football

Yeah that was hilariously bad. Or it would be hilarious if I didn't have Akron +19 with a bit on the ML

my favorite was the comment that Terry Bowden looked like he was freezing and yet was still sweating.

Lindsey Nelson, Bud Wilkinson, Paul Christman, Van Miller, Marty Glickman, Al DeRogotis, Jack Buck and Hank Stram. All fantastic professionals. The best football announcer I ever heard was Dick Perry who called Nebraska Cornhusker games back in the 1960's and 70's. Joe Sharkey currently Cal's announcer is also excellent ("THE BAND IS ON THE FIELD!!!"...).

I grew up listening to all sports on the radio and still prefer radio to television.
Radio provides much better coverage of the game. An added bonus of radio is you don't have to watch the moron jocks dancing and strutting about after making routine plays. Isn't that what they are paid millions to do?
