Actually that may be the best point raised in this thread.

Texas is goofy talented, and they are starting to play well.

They had over 600 yards of offense against Iowa State (By comparison, KState had 354 yards against Iowa State)-----

Also. ND beating USC is hardly a given. USC has so much talent, they can beat anyone.

As goofy as this system is---- Alabama or even Georgia could find itself playing for the National Championship.

Or both if Bama lost to LSU instead of A&M, you might have seen something like Bama v Georgia in BCS, or Lord help us - BAMA v LSU again.

Can you imagine that? That would have been priceless. Just to see the outrage directed at the BCS.

I'd put the line at -4/-4.5 for KState if they played ND, though if it were less I'd love to pound KState. One of the two will lose though in the next couple weeks, possibly both I think.

Public perception with K-State is seriously flawed........

Indeed it is, their defense alone can keep them in any game. With Bill at the helm, they're a very well disciplined team.

Even this week, Baylor with the points is tempting since they're at home and it's a nice look ahead spot for KSU but Snyder won't let that happen. I think they cover again.

Wouldnt it be something if USC beat Notre Dame then Oregon in the Pac 12 title game...

Kansas State is practically a lock for the title game. They are 6-2 against the Longhorns since the inception of the Big XII. Last time Texas beat them was about 10 years ago I think. I know Texas would like nothing more than to spoil their title hopes though...

I would rather try Wake getting 24 than Baylor at 11.5.

Texas v K St will be a good game. No pressure on Tex.

I actually think you could make decent coin fading all three K St, Oregon and ND the rest of the regular season. They are under a lot of pressure NOT to lose.

Kst -5 and Oregon -20 vs ND. ND is a top 20 team for sure but I can't say much more than that about them.

ND would lose to Oregon, Alabama and Kansas St with absolute certanty. I would even add GA and Tex A&M to that list... But all of this is just fiction . I would say they are top 8 team and that is respectfully said...

So Michigan State has 4 losses by a total of 10 points and Notre Dame beats them by 17. K State wins the turnover battle by 3 when they play Okla and win by 4 points and ND only wins the turnover battle by 1 and win by double digits. Don't pull this strength of schedule crap. ND plays defense not flashy offense. Of course they aren't going to blow everyone out. The more complete team is ND and it's not really that close. K state might only score 12 points against ND.

Is this the same ND team that needed a miracle to beat Pitt? I'm just asking.

    Great defense, average offense.

    In 2002---

Ohio State was an 18 point favorite over Cincinnati and won late 23-19.

They were 28 point favs against Northwestern, and won only 26-18.

They also had a close 19-14 win over Wisconsin, and a 13-7 win over Penn State.

Oh, and they beat Purdue 10-6.

The Buckeyes struggled as 10 point favs to beat Illinois in OT.

They closed with #12 Michigan, and won another tight game 14-9.

That is almost an identical performance to 2012 ND.
    penetrating blasphemy, i say.

actually, you have a point. i just love that 2002 Buckeyes team as if it were one of my kids. actually, that team was all upside...

the play was a penalty. should've been defensive holding perhaps and not PI, and the flag should've been thrown sooner, but still a penalty and still would've been a first down.

    ND's schedule is objectively difficult.
ND's schedule is harder still because these kids get ultra fired up to play at ND. Emotion is huge in college football. That is why all the tight games at home....
And for all the haters out there...as gamblers we know there is probably not a harder team for ND to play then SC at SC.
Rivalry game v an ultra talented team who has nothing to lose, who probably even plays better that way.

There are maybe only a couple of teams ND would probably want to play less.

    Stanford
    @USC
    @Oklahoma
    Michigan
    Michigan State
    BYU
    Miami

Damn, I am proud of that schedule.

They have played no team that currently is in top 6 in the country is what he meant or was it top 8 or top 10... Nope turns out that out of the teams ND have played none is ranked among top 12 as Oklahoma us currently higest ranked at nr 13. ND- great defense but with no ability to score one can never reach the championship game.

Now, I don't mean to point out the obvious.

But what is the highest ranked team Kansas State has beaten?

    And Oregon?

See where I'm going with this? What you posted about ND can be said of both KState and Oregon.

ND's offense is average, but it doesn't suck.

ND has gashed some very good defenses---

BYU's total defense is ranked 7th.
Michigan State's defense is ranked 11th.
    Stanford's defense is ranked 13th.
    Michigan's defense is ranked 17th.
    Oklahoma's defense is ranked 24th.

In those games, ND rushed for 271 yards v. BYU, 218 v. Oklahoma, 152 v. Michigan State, 180 v. Stanford, and Michigan is the only team to hold them under 100 yards rushing.

Even Pitt---has a defense ranked higher than Iowa State, which took KState to the wire.

The highest ranked defense KState faced was Oklahoma---at 24, and they scored fewer points than ND.

    Nice dodge.

But my point remains. Why is KState given "respect" and ND isn't?

You came up with some ridiculous criteria to judge ND, but neither KState or Oregon met it either.
