With two stout defenses squaring off, look for the Boston College-Wake Forest matchup this Saturday to stay under the total.

We feel that points will be at a premium here as both of these defenses match up well with the strengths of the opposing offenses.

Boston College is allowing just 14.9 points per game overall, and the Eagles have been virtually impossible to run on as they are surrendering just 78.2 rushing yards per game on 2.8 yards per carry. This is a problem for a Wake Forest offense that relies on the run, as the Demon Deacons average 151.2 rushing yards vs. just 143.6 passing yards per game. BC has only allowed a total of 22 points over the last four games.

Not to be outdone, Wake is allowing 15.0 points per game and the Deacons too have been tough against the run, allowing 3.1 yards per carry. However the Deacs also have a good pass defense to go with it, especially here at home where they allow only 195.0 passing yards per contest. Matt Ryan has been solid at quarterback for BC, but the long ball has not been his strong suit as he is averaging just 6.91 yards per pass attempt. Thus we expect both teams to have several long drives here without the presence of a real home run hitter on the field.

Play: Boston College-Wake Forest Under 39½
