Is James Davis playing against VT?

Does anyone know if James Davis will play in this game?

Tommy Bowden was "hedging" in his weekly press conference today but the word out of Clemson is he's going to play. The question is for how long and how well. But it ain't like the Tigers will be going to be hurting if Spiller has to come in. He's good and going to get better.

    Thanks for the info Doc

The last report I heard about him playing was a 50/50 shot.

    BBD,

No problem. Live in Columbia, SC and listen to the local sports talk show on the way home from work. Bowden hemmed and hawed. When they interviewed Davis he said he was playing.

    Pags,

That's correct. The feeling is that it might not take but one good shot to that shoulder to put him out again. He's going to play. But it's not sure how well or for how long...

Doc, in his weekly press conference yesterday. Did he maybe drop a hint at all on maybe them trying to pass more or no?

When I watch alot of those weekly press conferences on espn news. Some coaches will give you a hint in some type of fashion on what they might do in that next game.

    BBD,

Not that I heard...just caught the sound bites they played on local sports radio. Really about the only thing negative from last week's Ga. Tech game was that Proctor didn't throw the ball very well (not that he had to throw it all that much).

If I was Va. Tech I'd put 9 in the box and make Will Proctor try and beat me. Proctor has been "efficient" all year. Done a good job "managing" games. He hasn't shown he has he ability to put the team on his shoulders and win the game with his right arm.

If Clemson can run the ball on Tech...Tech, IMHO, can't win. If Clemson can't run the ball on Tech...Tech's got a shot at the upset.

I don't think putting 9 in the box is a good idea, when the Clemson's RB is hurt.

I can't put much faith into that though pags. That next day that had to stiff'in up on his pertty server IMO. I know medical science can work miracles, but the pain level is still gonna have to effect him to some degree in order for him to bring down his preformence somewhat i'm thinking.

    BBD,

I don't know how closely you've followed Clemson this year, but the freshman Spiller is as good as or better than Davis. If Va. Tech tries to play Clemson without stuffing the box, I think the Tigers will run it down their throats.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a Tiger fan. I graduated from the University of South Carolina! lol

Yeah...but Spiller is closer to healthy than Davis is.
