Its just like putting a line on Bama vs. Arkansas state. Everyone knows Bama is better team so only question is how hard they play. Like others said, NFL team could name the score, but line would have to account for nfl calling off the dogs!

the best college teams can have 18 year olds (17 year olds?) playing significant roles. surely alot of 20 year olds playing key roles.

i remember back in 1975 or so the college all stars played an nfl team (pittsburgh steelers - the champs) and the score was quite respectable. i think i remember steve bartkowski injury picture in SI, maybe even on the cover. that was college all-star team where presumably most were 22 or 23.

    http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vau...0110/index.htm

Besides those six sacks, the Stars so flustered Bradshaw that he even dropped the ball once as he set up to pass. Another time Bradshaw aborted a Pittsburgh drive when he threw a perfect interception to Ortega near the goal line, with no receiver in sight. To his credit, Bradshaw did not blame that interception on the murky ozone that smogged the Chicago air all week or on the 10-watt lights that darken Soldier Field. However, the combination ofBradshaw's bad pass and the big numbers on the scoreboard—All-Stars 14, Steelers 7—stirred Noll's inner peace, and when the Steelers regained the football early in the fourth quarter, he did his best Sparky Anderson act and summoned Joe Gilliam from the bullpen.

I can't believe nobody needs a rules clarification for this. Which rules are we using? College rules would mean the spread would need to be much larger, NFL rules would mean a smaller spread.

Back in the 70's the College All-Stars would play the Super Bowl champion. They became such insane blowouts that the game was cancelled in the third quarter of the final one (because of a thunderstorm) and the fans went nuts and stormed the field and were pointing the goalposts at the lightning-filled sky.

edit: gojets just touched on it.

No comparison if both teams are playing hard any NFL team wins by 50 plus.

    Think of it this way

Every player on an NFL team is one of the best players on a college team

Even the best/biggest college teams will have max 7-10 NFL starters

10 NFL starters + a bunch of scrubs vs All NFL starters

    Not even a competition.

at the very very min. -30.

I can't believe some of these answers, on here. Some people just don't understand the speed nature of the nfl is so much different. The best college offensive line would get torn about by these 3-4 defneses in the nfl. If the best nfl team played whom ever the worse nfl team is I can't see their offense putting up more then 10 points.

Also, I see the NFL team just tearing up the secondary. Going to a no huddle, it wouldn't be pretty. 35-0 type game at half.

USC, Alabama, Michigan, Notre Dame, and Oklahoma (to name a few) have all lost games to teams with similar talent disparities. I don't think anyone is saying that college players could be consistently competitive with an NFL team, but to rule it out as 100% impossible is ignoring statistical probability.

Also consider that all college players that could be NFL starters are worse than rookies

Imagine an all rookie NFL team vs a veteran or mixed NFL team. That would be a blowout

Multiply that by 10 and thats what a College vs NFL game would be like.

LOL some of these responses. Try a spread of -100 if an NFL team is trying. I'd be mildly shocked if a college team could cross midfield against ANY nfl team. We use to have these debates all the time on here with the great USC teams. Yet, the same USC team would lose to unranked Oregon St every other year and then lost to Stanford as a billion point home favorite. Most of you guys underestimate just how elite NFL athletes are. Haha 19 and 20 year olds playing against NFL competition and being able to be competitive. Get real. No wonder most of you are losing gamblers.

You are underestimating how fast 18-21 kids are developing these days. Hundreds of NFL vets wash out every year to make room for the latest wave of college kids. 5 starting NFL qb's were slinging it on saturday last year, including a 3rd round pick. How many would trade half their team to get Barkley right now?

Even at the high school level, I see grown man bodies and 4.4 40 times all day long. Go to any elite scouting event and you'll hear "OMG these are HIGH SCHOOLERS??!?" all day long. They put up stats that were totally unheard of 10 years ago. These kids have spent their whole lives benefiting from coaching, nutrition, and fitness techniques that didn't even exist for the prior generation. Anyone in the business can confirm that the talent gap is shrinking, fast twitch athletes hitting their peak at younger ages, and sports are changing to reflect those facts.

The NFL is obviously on a completely different level compared to NCAA, but to say that the best college players couldn't keep a game within 100 points even on a perfect day is nonsense.

They gave up 6 sacks to Western Kentucky. I highly doubt that WK would get a single sack against the worst NFL lines. Very few rookies even start on NFL offensive lines. By the way, the Bama offensive line is not even the biggest in the SEC. Tennessee's Oline average is over 20 lbs more and LSU's is over 40 lbs more. http://alabama.rivals.com/cdepthtext.asp http://tennessee.rivals.com/cdepthtext.asp

???? You see this spread NFL vs NFL team. The difference in the best NFL team and the worst is not equal to the worst NFL vs the best college in any way shape or form ever.

The Browns are lead by a rookie out of college, So I mean I'd say with his inexperience -40.... At all the key positions the Browns are better, now a team of the best NCAAF players vs. Browns, I'd say -18 Browns??

If Patrick Peterson were still on LSU and he hit fcukin Joshua Cribbs head on Joshua Cribbs would not be holding on to the ball.

Alabama would be the Savannah St against the worst NFL team

The main factor is in the trenches......Any NFL team could run the ball at 5-10 yards a clip minimum at will.......AJ McCarron would have about 1 second to throw every play and they would not be able to run the ball at all

Denard RObinson will have 25 carries for 45 yards against the worst defense in the nfl.

Bama qb will be lit up in the first second against a line. Name a rookie that came from Bama last year that's even a top 3 player on the team. There's not even 1.
