    No experience on American football but I'm playing soccer. Tackles are done instinctively, regardless of running direction. It's the "the other team has it" instinct kicking in.

    "Instinct" is what separates man from animal. You may be instinctual, but I am not.

    not sure about this man....I promise you are every bit of animal as the rest of us.....yes not everything we do is based off of instinct, we do use reason, but I would be slow to elevate myself as less animal than someone else.

    Who knows with the behavior I witness daily from so called humans, you may be correct maybe an evolution with humans.
