Why shouldn't we hammer Cincy tomorrow??
Did anyone actually watch Pitt vs Youngtown St?? I have no idea how that even happened......is Pitt that bad??
And if they are really that bad, why is the line only -4I know Cincy returns only a few starters on offense, but just by default, line should be higher
Just scared this is one of those classic public burials in the making

I don't think Cincinnati will run away with this, but home field and the fact that they have had the prep time should be enough to help them win by 7 or so.

Cincy -4 would be the fair line BEFORE Pitt got embarrassed by Youngstown St.......so what now??
Fair line would be Pitt +7 or +7.5 I think
Youngstown State is worse than Cincinnati, and Pitt is on the road, but Pitt also has the luxury of having already played a game, and Cincy's offensive losses and first game rust will hold them back a bit.
I agree, something very fishy. Lose at home by 14 when ur giving 18.5 points, now you play a better team away and only get 4?
Probably move to 5 or 5.5 by gametime
There is no transitive property between weeks. What is true won week is not reasonably predictable the next. Don't play Cincinatti. Do you think the people who do this for a living would leave +4 up all week because they didn't realize Pitt lost to Youngstown St and are on a short week? You've gotta be kidding yourself if that is what you call research.

Pointing to the extra time Cincinnati has to prepare for this game is off-point, IMO. It seems pretty obvious to me that Pittsburgh underestimated Youngstown State, and paid for it, but that doesn't mean a big part of their preseason game-planning wasn't dedicated to the much more important Bearcats game.
Add in the additional motivation of playing mad off that embarrassing loss, in a rivalry game that will be the last in the series and I have a hard time seeing the Panthers as anything but a team that's going to bring their A game tonight.

Why may i ask?
Munchie legeaux gained experience last year playin while collaros was hurt. He's going to run all over Pitt. Don't be fooled by pead leaving. We have tons of talent at RB without pead. Lots of young guns proving themselves. Loaded at Wr position as well.
6 Pitt players were suspended and out week one. Couple of them are Dlinemen and I think one of them was a starter last year. Another DL (Clemmings) missed the first game due to injury. He's listed as a starter this week.

Not really. Our defense still sucks. But it's refreshing to know our defense won't completely suck because the spread offense is perfect for Munchie because he can get out and use his speed.
Is ray graham playing?
Clemmings and Ezell are starters on the Defensive line. Hale is a backup DE. So they are getting back 3 linemen this week. None of the other guys are starters.
I dont want any part of this game, but yall are free to take a stab at either side.

Thats why I was asking if anyone saw Pitt vs Younstown St because I did not.
If it were a few weird turnovers, then week 1 doesn't matter that much.....If Pitt was being beat across the lines and physically dominated, then it definitely is cause for concern
Game scares me, on paper Pitt should be closer to +9..YSU destroyed them with the spread last week, so they had a week to prepare for it again and honestly killed themselves with some bad moves (not making a 4th and 1 deep while trying to come back, and a couple of big fumbles).
Pitt has VA tech next week, concur has a cupcake. If Pitt loses this, they start 0-3.
Finally, this is big least football, so its anyone's game. Ill take bearcats for a half unit tonight if I can still get 4 someplace (free half point).

I like Cinci at home this year. Will be playing them as dogs at home to superior teams this year as well.

Pitt +10 and over teaser is the way to go
intial lean to pitt + gametime line and over. this defense did give up almost 400 yards and 31 points to youngstown st.
A couple things stand out to me in this one:
Week 1 let down by Pitt may actually be reason line would more favor them in a way...clearly came out flat and unmotivated vs. YST. I'd expect a bit more energy tonight, and on national TV at that.
Cincy returns 7 starters on defense....and has a very strong secondary. They are fine at RB despite Pead leaving. WR they return 2 starters, but neither was actually that impressive and/or prolific last year.
Pitt does get 2 starters back on defense....no doubt that should help, but, how much?
Overall, I expect a Cincy win by 6 or 7....and I expect the line to be there around kickoff as well.
