Should Ped State football get the death penalty?

    I think so

I understand that current players had nothing to do with it, but

Let them transfer anywhere else and not have to sit out/lose eligibility

A message needs to be sent to other collegiate programs that its not OK to cover things up

That even the most legendary coaches and programs are not immune from punishment and have to play by the rules

NCAA has to set an example and make one out of Ped State

I say shut down their program indefinately

    Hell yeah.

They shut down SMU because they gave kids 200 bucks per game.

Penn State protected a child rapist for a decade plus.

    Fuk 'em. Hammer them.

Already have the death penalty. Too much negative recruiting and bad publicity to do anything in the forseeable future.

If only people had the same passion towards the systematic abuse & coverup by the billion member catholic church

Fines are great, programs being cancelled send a message, but real jail time is required for those who enable or hide these childhood stealing predators.

Apparently we have no problem locking people in this labyrinth of private prisons - a few more inmates need to be added.

I think they will eventually receive a punishment every bit as severe as SMU. Deservedly so.

Primarily this will be done for litigation purposes. The NCAA needs to show that they are in no way complicit with allowing these things to go unpunished.

There are about 425,000 catholic priests in the world right now, what percentage of those do you think abuse children?

    A few bad apples?

I don't want to divert away from the Penn thread, but right up to the highest level (current Pope), it was known & policies created

    - Priests relocated / names changed
    - Victims investigated and threatened

If a chain of private schools did this by helping pedophile teachers

    - change their names
    - relocate to new schools
    - threaten victims

This would be a small thing because they have a hundreds of thousands of teachers?

The Catholic church did this...in countries around the world. SYSTEMATICALLY. Threaten the victims, move the predators, deal with it internally.

How many is too many for you? How should it have been dealt with?

We've heard many times how for many people/schools "Football is a religion".

Those Joe Pa rallies last year were just as creepy as a religious revival.

Well in a way JoePa did get the death penalty. Sandusky should get the death penalty but instead he'll rot in jail while his wife collects his pension.

I despise what Penn St covered up and overlooked but the NCAA is a useless organization who has no rule against anything that transpired at Penn St unless they invoke the very liberal reaching lack of institutional control.

The Penn St BOT or the governor or most importantly the taxpayers of the state of Pennsylvania should make a stand. But most unfortunately taxpayers are just mindless sheep these days.

Then why not just shut down all college football. Every program cheats in some way or another and a lot of you idiots think you know everything when in fact you don't know shit.

Should we shutdown Asia because someone got raped in Laos? Should we shutdown all restaurants because someone got food poisoning at a Krystals? Should we shutdown camping because someone got attacked by a bear?

Do you see how dumb you are now?

All of the men involved in the cover up should be prosecuted and have all assets seized. The school deserves some harsh sanctions but quite honestly the damage from the horrible acts committed on campus are going to be a death penalty itself.

Wonder how tt is holding up since he was such a hardcore supporter of the Penn St group. Probably drowning his sorrows in a vat of Ben and Jerry's.

I would be willing to bet 7k betpoints Penn State football gets the harshest penalty the NCAA has ever handed down.

They have no choice now. They're done.
