they do suck and there would be no way I take them here...but also Gailey is known for letting up when he gets a lead...plus Calvin Johnson is questionable for this one...
I wish i could give you a more in-depth breakdown on this one, but I really can't make a case for either team on this one. ... If somebody held a gun to my head and said pick a side, I'd go with Virginia
Virginia is bad and it’s a general rule of mine never to back bad teams. That being said, I have a lean towards Virginia plus the points. A few things stand out… No one on this GT team has ever beaten Virginia. GT is averaging only one conference win by 17+ points in the last five years (and three of those wins were against Duke). It’s a nationally televised game…teams generally tend to play at a higher level when in the national spotlight. The spread last week against Troy was the same and GT failed to cover. Troy and Virginia have similar teams this year.
One thing to consider is that Virginia is either last or next to last in the ACC in nearly every offensive category. They will struggle to put points on the board. I expect them to get no more than 14 points in this game (they haven't scored more than 13 yet this year). I have a huge lean towards the under. GT could notch a shut out and it’s unlikely they will score more than 30 points.
Anyone get this game at anything other than 17? I couldn't back Virginia, but didn't like GT all that much either. Playing the under worked out nicely though...
I got lucky and found it at -16.5. But I only put a half unit on GA Tech just so I would have something to watch. Then the girlfriend came over and put the kibosh on that idea anyway.
