What is happening is the evolution of the 4 Superconferences. The Big 12 is expanding to 12 teams. The ACC will be reduced to 12 teams. If the SEC decides to expand to 16 teams, and simply have two 8 team divisions, something that makes total sense, The Big 10, Big 12, and Pac 12 will have to follow suit. The Big 10 can grab ACC teams Maryland, Pitt, and Syracuse, and well as Notre Dame. If not the Irish, they have plenty of other options. The Big 12 can take Louisville, Cincinnati, Miami, and also take a Notre Dame, or another school. The Pac 12 has it's "pick of the litter" out West. They can raid the MWC and take both Boise State and San Diego State from the Big East. With the new "Playoffs" involving 4 teams on the horizon, do not be surprised to see this happen sooner rather than later.
