I'm not a conspiracy theorist at all. The Hawaii allegations may turn out to be true or false, or we may never know. However, the single biggest play of this season that stands out to me was in the GT/NCST game where GT ran a play instead of kneeling on the ball with a minute left and fumbled it to NCST which ran it in for a TD. It resulted in a push for me and a loss for many others who got a worse line. I wonder why no one ever investigated that one? What do you all think?

There's another game that screams fix.... how about iona vs wmu in hoops spread is 7 iona up 8 9 seconds left all they have to do is run the clock out they turn the ball over and let wmu put in an easy basket
Dude...the penn state stuff was based in fact, off of a grand jury report. In this case, everyone is basing their conclusions on an anonymous letter. Those are two entirely different situations and to draw an anology between the two is silly.

I won't even respond to your other allegations. Weird things happen over a season long sample size (1000's of games) and it doesn't mean those rare weird things are the result of a fix.

All I'm saying is that you shouldn't assume the fix is in unless you have proof to support that allegation. Everyone just likes to say a game is fixed to make themselves feel better, but the truth is that fixed games are extremely rare because they are so easily exposed from betting patterns or someone opening their mouth.

seems like there would be too many parties involved to make that happen and keep it quiet

i figure that's why you hear about it a lot more in hoops...one random player can have a much bigger impact on the outcome of the game

You didn't say that loudly enough to heard here.

There has been no evidence presented, yet the guys posting in this thread have already voted to convict. I'd ask them to google "lynch" but I doubt they can spell a word with that many letters. "Mob" might work.

Everyone can believe what they want... if you watched the iona game, if you watched the cuse game... you could tell these games were fixed... the qb for hawaii I know has a kid or 2... if someone offered him a large sum of money to throw a game its not hard to imagine it can be done..all that takes is 1 person... in football a dback, qb rb are easiest to throw a game

I played dback throughout college... it would of been more than easy to throw a game... it doesn't need to be everyplay just a big play here or there same with the qb... he could be 20 of 30... put throws 2 bad outroutes for 6... and here's another thing why does line movement and the amount of money on a team matter if games aren't fixed?

The problem is every time someone loses on this site the first thing they think is the fix is in.

Also.. its sad but your background can determine this.. if your from a poor community and you know a local guy comes up to you and says I got 50 k on you to lose or not cover... ill give you 1k now and another 5 later if you blows this... a kid who has never seen that kind of money from a poor community might want a piece of that pie

and therein lies part of the reason why you dont see it happen very often....most guys who work their ass off to get where they are have a lot more pride than to throw a game

guys will cheat in a lot of ways but the human ego seems to not allow most people to intentionally lose or compromise their performance...will there be some? sure....but id say that's a rare exception rather than anything of any frequency

That may be true, but I have not bet the 1am degen game all season, know many who did, and looking at it with a clear head, there are a couple of games that circumstances are beyond coincidence.

yep that's the real evidence of a fix when the ml moves that much rather than the spread gl

    *QUESTION*

Not sure if this was asked, I skimmed most of the posts here and didn't see this point come up:

Aren't point shaving scandals usually unrelated to the W/L outcome of the game?? Usually when you hear about these scandals, you hear about teams that don't throw the game, but they will make sure they don't cover a -20 spread, or something to that effect. Screwing over the W/L record of the team, and the bowl money and accolades that go along with it is a new one to me, unless I haven't followed my history that close on things like this.

One guy or a small group of guys is gonna screw over his whole team and all their fans by tanking the season like that?? I obviously need clarification here.

Do you guys really think an anonymous letter is going to stir the media into a frenzy? No. There is obviously something else going on behind the scenes that give the allegations some bite.

    Corruption is fashionable these days.

I would think they was only betting money line. Losing to teams that they would naturally beat up on. That's fishy to me.

This is my post from the San Jose St/ Hawaii game thread:

Hawaii offensive lineman # 54 Let the defender go right by him, literally right by him, on the extra point block that was returned......Commited the false start penalty on that crucial third down......then on the field goal to put Hawaii up 8 he "slipped" and let the defender go right by him again for the blocked field goal

Someone needs to hunt this bastard down......LMAO

    and

BTW the Offensive lineman that had the false start let the guy run right by him on the extra point of death and Hawaii's missed field goal to go up by 8.....Just rewatched it. Dude needs to be shot for either taking the fall or being THAT bad

here is another post from a different guy to give you an idea:

How did Hawaii lose??? I'm so busy thinking about my cover, that I just realized that they are actually gonna lose.

    or

OMFG! They take the delay of game and fukkin run it for the 2 point conversion? WTF is that? My over 55.5 is lost now lol.

Worst 2 pt conversion attempt by Hawaii EVER!!!

Re-read the last 5 or 6 pages of this thread if you're interested in this scandal.....seems like tons of people knew something wasn't right

Just watching the UNLV game stevenash posted. The fumble at the start of the third and both of moniz's fumbles after that are very suspect.
