WOW! The O/U on Houston/Tulane is now 77!

Thats just plain crazy!!! It was 74 points this morning!! Houston is averaging 63 points in offense the past 4 weeks and Tulane is averaging 15 points (both against CUSA opponents). To think that this total gets to 78 (to hit the over) is just nuts! Did everyone watch Bowling Green on Tuesday????? Pretty much the same offense with Tulane! Houston would have to carry the full load on offense and could be up 56 to 3 and just put in their 2nd and 3rd string...Too many things could happen here and they miss because Tulane certainly wont be "running and gunning".

--Only bet here is the UNDER IMO.

Usually with totals this high, the game ends up over. The books can't set them high enough IMO.

In the last month Tulane has hit 20+ ONE time. They average 15 points per game in the CUSA and Houston's defense has allowed 19 points per game. All Im saying is IF Houston takes their foot off the gas there is no way that Tulane starts lighting up the scoreboard. Personally I thought 73 was the right number based on how enept the Tulane offense is....at 77 it seems high and has a good chance at coming under.

Don't understand why most on this site think Tulane won't score tonight... I think this game will be far more competitive then what many feel and I can easily see Tulane putting up 3+ TDs against a suspect D in HOU.

I agree. It's hard to bet an under with Huston, but I just don't see Tulane getting in the endzone more than once. Under 77'.

    Usually....but there are exceptions

Last week's Oregon vs Washington game had an o/u of 75.5. The final score was 34-17 with 51 total points.

I also remember last year with Nevada and Hawaii--an o/u of 78...Total only hit 50.

No doubt that Houston is lighting up the scoreboard and the over has hit every week lately but you do have to look at both opponents. Hell, Houston might cover it all on their own but I hate betting o/u when only one team can score.

Their team total is 18.5--hard to predict when Houston's defense is allowing teams to score 19 on average.

Houston though--they have a TT of 53. This seems alot more attractive if you want to bet an over.

Actually, based on the o/u line movement I think most people expect Tulane to put up 3+ td's. I dont know how competitive that will be though if Houston puts up 9+. Remember, Tulane's defense has been giving up close to 40 points per game to offenses that are no where near as high powered as Houston's #1 ranked offense.

My prediction: 59 to 17 Houston winning but the o/u coming in just below the current 77 total.

I just need Hou backers to keep pounding and get me 35 or 35.5 at my shop to get me on board the Tulane train, I"ll prob. still play it at 34.5 but if I can get over that 35, that would be even better. good luck tonight gents.

I did!! However, Toledo has been scoring points all year long and averages over 45 per game.

Did you watch Bowling Green? Their offense is much closer to Tulane's!! 14-17 points is all we are going to see tonite with Tulane IMO.

How is the only bet the under, its not. Have you seen Houston's defense, besides Tulane is at home which usually calls for a little inspiration which should yield at least a few scores.

Thats because you watched Bowling Green for one game, well Ive seen them play more than once and their not anemic when it comes to scoring. Besides what does Bowling Green have to do with tonight.

this is a correlated game so if you like houston you should also like the over and tulane/under.

Houston's defense doesn't play well at Robertson Stadium.

    Have you even watched them?

The reason I'm asking is, because if you had you'd know that they do a great imitation of a basketball team trying to get back on a fast break opportunity.

Bet the over or leave it the fukk alone!

That worked out well for them their last 2 home games against UTEP (who is 4-5) and Memphis (who is 2-7)...They averaged 12 points per game!

Houston's last 2 away games they scored 49 points and 56. So they average 53 points on the road so far this year..

Again, I just dont see a way that this game stays even slightly close....59-17 will be the final IMO.

Its a comparison! Both teams average 15 points of offense per game in their respective conferences. BG on Tuesday scored 14 points which was exactly what I predicted based on what theyve been doing all year. No reason to think that Tulane is all of a sudden going to turn into the Nill or Toledo and start scoring 50+ ESPECIALLY when their defense allows 40 per game! There is a reason they have lost 7 games in a row by an average of 24 points! They arent very good this year and now they get to play the #1 ranked offense in the country. It isnt going to be pretty.

Wow!! 90 points with 9 minutes left in the game!! As expected Tulane has scored 17 but Houston has exceeded expectations with 73 points in 36 minutes!! Zero scoring in the 1st quarter! Love that scoring machine!!
