With Nebraska's problems in the secondary I think they will struggle against the NW passing game and will be tough for them to cover. That said NW defense is weak and Martinez shouldn't have any problems.

see a bit more value in NW tt over 22' than the side, their defense is atrocious and lacks depth. big hfa for neb as well and they're playing good ball recently.

actually the over might not be a bad play even at 62.5. NW hasn't given up less than 38 pts in conference play. I think Nebraska can eclipse that at home, somewhere in the 40s. Meanwhile NW has been averaging 34.6 pts per game in B10 play. As I said earlier, they should be able to exploit Nebraska's young secondary, so I like the over.

I think they can but I didn't play the game.

I would lean Nebraska but it's hard to trust Martinez.

Shit, they're saying there will be 28 mph winds. Not good for NW, especially on the road

wow seems alotta people arnt giving nebraska any credit they held mich state to 3? i still see nebraska getting in the mid 40s here which is why i like them to cover i see a 41-17 nebraska win but northwestern does scare me a tad wasnt my best play on the card but i guess will see

Nebraska runs for about 400yds of offense today and puts up damn near 50 and the blackshirts continue to get better off of last weeks domination of Michigan St.

I wouldn't say "problems in the secondary" so much as "problems with the defensive front." I know the end result is the same thing, but I just wanted to point that out. It also is important if you think that the success at getting to Gray and Cousins in the past two weeks was not a fluke.

If you're a husker you know the team better than I do but I assume NW will have them playing 5 and 6 defensive backs and it was my impression they don't have experienced depth at CB beyond Dennard. e.g. Ciante(sp?) Evans

They do have a shitload of sophomores in there, but the good news is that run a (basically) 4-2-5 as their base (they call it the "peso" for whatever reason) and you will often find six or more DB's on the field even in normal down/distance situations. So it isn't like having to play with that many DB's is a stretch for Pelini and his team.

They had to replace three NFL'ers (Amukamara, Hagg, and Gomes) with three sophomores (Green, Evans, and Baptiste) who are getting better each week. They are still learning and they got taken to task a bit by Washington and, to a lesser extent, Fresno State because the line didn't get a lick of pressure. Now, did the line's improvement over the last two weeks actually mean something? Who knows. But they are still Top 25 in pass efficiency defense and passing yards per game allowed.

I forget how mobile Persa is, though. Going back as far as I can remember, mobile QB's who can throw some give Nebraska fits.

And any team that can run a counter.

Can't score more then 3 goddam pts in half at home.

    You deserve to lose. Brutal.

Teams at home aren't what they use to be in college football.

    James Brown
    Corbi Jones
    Michael Bishop
    Dan Persa & Friends

And I could go on and on with QB's that can run (but aren't run-first) that have ruined Nebraska for decades now.
