system play, thats what the numbers show, I am confident as of right now, if something changes until game time I will buy out, there is an issue of weather apparently that might change

may I ask why you like the over?

Houston Cougars offense and team play is similar to their 2009-2010 season a few years back when they went 10-2. That year they hosted a mediocre to sub-par rice team and won 73-14. This year they have the #1 passing offense in the nation and are scoring an average of 52 points a game while giving up over 25 points a game to sub-par college teams. I don't see how this can go UNDER the way the weather conditions and the offensive and defensive (lack thereof) style of the Cougars.

Last year with Houston Cougars sucking and few notches below what they are this year, they still combined to score in the mid-60's total against Rice at Rice. Back home and a better offensive Cougar team.....bombs away.

I know, houston's results this season suggest the over big

Im hoping the defense will show up, and while they may score in the 50s or 60s, maybe they'll keep rice to a touchdown or less, rice does have a horrible offense, I think they will look to their running game to move the ball forward on houston and hopefully run the clock down a bit

I'm looking at the Under 71 (-105), line stays I'll probably double up. There's resistance at that number, I'll be off it if moves too much like last night in the pitt/uconn game.

Houston has given up 34 points to UCLA, 23 to North Texas, 34 points to Louisiana Tech and 28 to Marshall all this year.

What makes you think they will hold the Rice Owls (a pretty decent offense) to less than 24 points?

owls do not have a good offense, they only average 22 points against lesser opposition than houston, as I said, Im hoping owls will choose running the ball to run the clock down and give less time for keenan to have the ball in his hands

Rice has an above average QB unlike 90% of you I've actually seen rice play, and Rice is gonna be good for 24-31 points against this amazing Houston defense your pretty much bettin Houston scores 60 tonight if u like Houston -27.5 so take them with the over

    Here's a system for you:

Sumlin is 16-1 OVER (+14.9 Units) off a home win as the coach of Houston.

I'm thinking the same thing. No reason that shouldn't be up to 71.5 or even 72 by now at all books, given how many people are going to just blindly hammer the over.

So with everything you guys have said, why is the number not moving?

This reminds me of the Mizzou/Oklahoma State game last week, which I think ended at 69 points and the O/U was about the same as this one was (in fact, it was around 70 or 70.5 then the under got hammered right before kickoff). I definitely wouldn't lock a number in here until I see what happens with the LM late.

I'm obviously going to look this stuff up later before I place a wager on this game, but I was just curious as to whether Rice likes to run the ball more or pass it.

The good thing about HOuston is they'll score or punt in 2-3 minutes.... Rice's game plan might be to drain the clock on the ground though, which could kill the over.

It just rained here, but the cold front hasn't come through yet as it's still humid. For game time it should be around a 50 to 60% chance of showers with winds blowing around 15mph.

rice sucks , but so does houston defense , might keep it close at first but houston offense way to explosive , should cover in the 2nd half

Rice converts 37% of their 3rd downs. Houston converts 57% of their 3rd downs. Wow. Houston is number 4 in 3rd down % and #1 in Total Offense.

    That enough to cover 28?

Also keep in mind this is the first time alot of people will lay eyes on Houston, with that I do think they come out and try and make a statement. I think 71 is about right for this game. A few stops and punts here and there and is may fall under the total.

Staying away from the total but best of luck to you guys.

Actually that game ended up pushing. And the reason that game didn't go over was because there was 2 missed FG's and 5 turnovers in the game.

Well, it was 68 or 68.5 at open. Someone hit both ends of that bitch, because it sat at 70 or 70.5 until the last second, then the under got slammed.

    Coincidence?

84% of the public on Houston- 88% on the over
92% were on the Ravens- we know how that turned out
84% on FIU we know how that turned out.

so how does waiting to lock in the LM work? you wait to see it hit 73, then you play over 73 - or you wait till it hits 69 and then you take under 69?
