but why do so many people like Washington in this matchup so much?? UW defense has looked very soft so far this year (24 points allowed to colorado, 51 to nebraska, 32 to hawaii, 23 to nebraska). Andrew Luck should be able to go up and down the field with no problems against this defense. Furthermore, Stanford is on an incredible covering streak having won something like their last 8 or 9 games by 25+ points. Now washington's offense has looked great so far this year but they haven't really faced any team with a defense as good as Stanford




I see like a 45-24 type game here so I'm curious why so many people see a significant edge on the huskies' side

going by your score prediction, that's cutting it close since the spread is -20 or -21. this game is just to close to call since U Dub can score as well. best bet is probably the over, but i will just enjoy the game and watch Luck do what Luck do and throw the deep ball to his TE's

Under normal circumstances, I would say that Stanford is over-achieving this season and their tougher schedule over the second half of the season will make it more visible, however there's a lot of pressure on them to play the full 60 minutes when they're on the outside looking in with respect to BCS ranking. Add to that the personal motivation Andrew Luck has to make himself as marketable as possible and I doubt we'll see much of Stanford letting their foot off the gas in the second half of games.

I think that situationally, playing against Stanford would normally be a good call, but the special circumstances make it a bad one. As it stands, I think they slip at some point, but betting against them is not a wise move. No play.

It doesn't matter if you pick a dog or favorite. Vegas just wants you betting.

Simple math usually beats people. Most can not win at a high enough percentage to beat the juice.

The public sucks at picking dogs as well.

People think that picking favorites = a square play, however, dogs can be square plays too.

It's about picking winners.

Personally, I think if you really want to make money, betting more less often is the way to go.

Just go really big on the rare occasions you're super confident.

If you go like 200-180 you would probably be down betting $100 a unit.

If you bet 7 games all year betting like 10k a game and went 5-2, you would be up a lot.

The books want you to play every game.

It's almost like flipping a coin. Heads is -120 and tails is -105 Try beating those odds over time.

True. How could I forget about that Tulsa game. That was the easiest play of my life.

When everyone kept saying they were going to play Tulsa I was trying to talk them out of it but no one listened. Why would anyone listen to a guy that lives here and has watched both teams play in person quite frequently over the past 17 years?

I loved how a few of the people talked like it was going to be a road game for OSU. The truth of the matter is, there are more OSU and OU alumni living in Tulsa than there are Tulsa alumni. Whenever OU or OSU come to town, there are way more OU or OSU fans in the seats. 14 was a gift.

I think sometimes Vegas either gets lazy, or tries to trick people into taking the wrong side. I also have a theory that it takes them longer to set good lines in college athletics. I have made a killing early in the season the past two years until Vegas finally adjusts. Maybe it's because there are a lot more college teams and more information to go over.

Is there a reason I do really well betting on college sports but suck at the NBA and NFL???? I feel like NBA and NFL lines are a lot sharper.

Stanford is a legit top 5 top 10 team. Sure they haven't played anybody this year but you're talking about a team that beat Virginia Tech by 28 in a BCS bowl game last year (and it's the same team, if not better, than last year)
