First of all---Thanks for even taking 10 seconds to open my thread.

Next. I welcome every jokes, ball busting, taunts, and of course---worship in my thread. The more shit thrown, usually makes for a more entertaining thread.

I am not one of the sensitve sally's that get lathered up if you rip or question their picks. In fact, on more than one occasion a post has made me re-examine a selection and saved me money.

Last year I played 4 college games a week--and they were always my Beat the prick selections. I finished the season hitting 67.2% in my college games, and a woefully inept 40.3% in NFL selections, and that is the reason I ONLY wager on NCAA football and basketball. I actually led the BTP contest with a 2 weeks remaining---and then lost 7 of 8 NFL picks to finish roughly 21st or so.

About my selections if you are curious. I create my own set of power numbers using the following data----last year's performance, returning number of starts for the OL, returning skill position yards, returning defensive performance, a coaching value, recruiting performance, quarterback experience/performance and schedule.

If there is a significant deviation from the line offered and my linear projections----that is my selection.

I will post my selections in this thread with writeups.

How do you feel about oreg/lsu tomorrow. I like lsu but think I am making a play on the Under only. I have learned to stay away from these prime time games unless I have a really really good feeling about it, of course they are all good feeling until they lose .

I like a dude who doesn't take himself seriously and I'm not one who needs to see a bunch of bullshit reasons explaining their play... post the play and move on... any handicapper worth a damn can do their own handicapping to figure out the reasoning for it.

Anyway, I find your posts to be refreshing and humorous.

All plays are one unit.

I burned through my bankroll pretty quickly in 2008 by being really undisciplined. I made a lot of mistakes by raising the value of my units--on plays I felt really strongly about---and sure as shit---those plays lost more often than not because I placed emotion in those plays.

When I used a standard 1-unit play---that was the recipe for me. One thing I do like to do is I will take a ML dog if the number is less than 3. If I like a team at +2.5, I don't find any value in buying the hook up to 3, or taking the 2.5. I just play the ML. I note the times I do that.

I like #2. New system with UM. both teams have played hard against each other. 13.5, 14 points seems a little much.
I LOVE #3. I am a UNM alumni and absolutely hate the FAggies. But in all seriousness, there is a lot of turmoil in nmsu's football program and they just don't have good players. Ohio is more athletic and have a better coaching staff. Linesmakers really dorked up this line. Not a very good football program.

MB - I followed along last season through posts and blogs. Glad to see youve got a thread and Im looking forward to it.

Initially I was with you on ND (-10) but the more I dug, the less confident I got. ND has 'revenge' games with Mich St and Mich on deck so Im hoping theyre not peeking ahead. But theyre returning 16 starters who should know better and be able to keep everyone focused. The visitor in 10-1 ATS in ND home games and if I grabbed the scores from last season corretly, South Florida's last 7 games were decided by 8, 1, 3, 7, 3, 3 and 5 points. South Florida seems to be a fiesty little bugger.

Love the WM play! Robinson at Mich is really going to be limited by new coach Bradh Hoke's pro-style offense. He'll stil have his breakout runs here and there, but its not going to be designed for a QB with his speed. WM is returning standout QB Carder and 15 other starters and Michigan is just defeated after a combined 15-22 record under Rich Rod finishing 67th, 82nd and 110th in Total D...allowing 40ppg in the last 9 games. I dunno if WM can pull it off, but theyre within 14 all day long!
