Ok Joe Paterno Is Not Coaching Penn St

Tired of hearing the 81 year old coach is doing a great job

He is a figure head only and has ZERO input on game. He is not even on field anymore.

I believe he is having more input than Bobby Bowden -- Bowden doesn't even show up at every practice, and when he does, he just rides around in a golf cart all day. JoePa is out there demonstrating onside kicks, which of course resulted in a busted hip which is why he is not on the sideline.

With that said, Tom Bradley and Jimbo Fisher are both calling the shots -- no doubt.

I think JoePa is doing less than you think. He does that onside kick every Friday because it is tradition. They were talking about this earlier today. The most input he has on that team is the coaching he does to all his Assistant coaches on Sunday and Monday. They said he generally stays away away from doing much of anything during the week and it is very evident that he does nothing on game day as he isn't even on the field. I think he is there at this point to merely bring in the big recruits and watch his win/loss record get better and better...

im sure joe pa goes over the game plan with his coordinators on how to play each team and those guys call all the shots until there is something big that needs a decision like a 4th and short or to gofor a touchdown or kick a fg

it's true. He's not on the field, he left before the game ended, and he obviously wasn't there for the postgame handshake

He's up in the booth (headset and all). I'm sure he gives his input and is presiding over it....a la Bill Walsh. I'm really pulling for them to win it all, so he can go out on top, transition to his other coaches, and call it a career.

Joe Pa is still in charge of the offense during the week. The offensive gameplan goes through him.
