And yet, the line is moving in the Red Raider's favor. Its usually when WVU makes you think they are for real that Geno Smith lays his egg. That's why I wait until the week after the week where they prove they're for real to think they're for real.

The reality is that, even if WVU lays an egg offensively, Texas Tech is not a good football team. Paper tigers built on a weak schedule. They go all out for one home game each year, and that was OU - where they got clobbered by an OU team that isn't as good as some past Sooner teams that struggled in Lubbock.
In big at -4.5...WVU covers easily. May even get this at -11.5 on a 5D open-ended pleaser...

Tech is a tough home team and pulls off a big upset every year. WVU is coming off two exhaustive games and will likely be overlooking Tech and is making its second 1,000-mile trip. They have no idea what may await them in Lubbock. I'd be surprised if WVU doesn't cover but everything is lined up here for Tech to blindside them. Hard to believe the line is moving toward Tech though.

Nobody struggles to put up points against this defense, that's why it's so low. Tech puts up a lot of points, last week was their only letdown. -5 in this game is basically picking WVU to win though so you guys have that on your side.

Just take over 90 and don't look back
Also, no team will struggle to score on west va D. You guys are underestimating TT, don't think this'll be as big a blowout as you guys are making it out to be.

I wouldn't pound WVU here.
- Texas isn't that good by Texas standards. They're just a decent team. WVU eeked a win there.
- Baylor is rebuilding, was picked to finished 8th in the league, and put up 63 points in Morgantown.
- WVU's defense sucks and Tech will score a lot of points
- WVU is coming off a big win
- Tech is coming off a bad loss.
Texas Tech is the hungry home dog. They will score points on WVU. Don't be surprised to see Tech even win straight up. WVU is getting a lot of love for beating an unranked Baylor team and a Texas team that isn't even in the top 15.
WVU will slip up in one of these road games. Just wait and see.

Right, but why talk about Texas? What about Maryland? WVU beat Maryland by 10 ... AT HOME! What the hell is wrong with you people?

I know.
I watched this WVU team lose to some bad Big East teams last year. I'm not sold on them. They have no defense. Baylor and Texas are average to a little bit better than average football teams. WVU gave up 108 to those two teams combined and won by an average of 5 points.
They will slip up on the road in Big 12 play. Just watch.
Tech can score points and they will this week. WVU is probably feeling really good about themselves too.

Please. Vanderbilt just knocked off Missouri, and covered against a similar spread against South Carolina. don't you think they deserve a little respect from the oddsmakers by now?? Florida just had huge game against LSU? Letdown week????

Believe it or not, TT has one of the best home field advantages in the country and has had for 25 years. That's got to why the big money is betting Tech hard.

Just one correction, but the WVU football team never left Texas. They're staying there for the week to prep for TT. Turned out to be a message board rumor.

Oh yeah. It's good to know WVU has their priorities in order and doesn't focus on time in class. Time at camp can take a lot out of you too though.

Sorry, guys - I'd read that on the WV Rivals site but they squashed that rumor since my last post. I should have waited for that to be verified before I posted it here, my fault!

Texas was ranked 9th by the AP poll and 11th by the coaches poll before WVU beat them in Austin. That's a weak argument. You can't downgrade every WVU opponent after they beat them.
Can WVU lose? Absolutely. To suggest that WVU is getting too much attention is laughable. Their offense is legitimate and their defense is awful, but they can win ball games. I don't care who you play, if you throw up 24 Touchdowns and 0 interceptions, you are something special.

Were you sold on them before they embarrassed your Sooners in the 2008 Fiesta Bowl?
I couldn't figure out your angle until I read some of your earlier posts. Then suddenly I found my answer. You are a BIG Sooners fan and WVU embarrassed them a few years back in that 2008 BCS Fiesta Bowl. I get it now and I don't blame you. I'd hold a grudge as well.
WVU may not be a top 5 team in my opinion, but they can score and score they will.

You really think I'm holding the 2008 Fiesta Bowl against WVU? LMAO. That's the most ridiculous thing I've read on here in a while.
WVU will beat OU this year too. That has absolutely nothing to do with this pick and I have absolutely nothing against WVU.
As for that 2008 Fiesta Bowl, I was not surprised we lost. OU had five starters out for that game, four on defense, and WVU was one game away from playing for the national title.

I'll take your word for it.
I've just learned, over the years, that ALL posters have inherent biases towards and against certain teams. Whether or not they are conscious of these leanings is another debate. Sometimes, I stop myself and ask if I am being objective about a certain contest or do I have some bias against certain teams. It's natural as a sports fan.
Good luck with your picks this week.
