Texas-Arkansas will have to wait out Hurricane Ike. UT announced tonight that it is postponing Saturday’s football game against Arkansas because of forecasts of severe weather from Hurricane Ike.

The game will be played Sept. 27 at Royal-Memorial Stadium. Kickoff time and television coverage will be determined.

“We have been monitoring this situation since Sunday and, at this time, feel confident this is the right thing to do,” Texas athletics director DeLoss Dodds said in a statement. “A football game becomes less important when you are dealing with the safety of the people of Texas.”

Fortunately for the Longhorns and Razorbacks, the schools shared a bye week.

But unfortunately for those who’ll be coming in from out of town, the Austin City Limits music festival will be going strong. The festival begins on Friday, Sept. 26 and runs through Sunday, Sept. 27, annually bringing music fans to Austin for dozens of national touring acts at Zilker Park.
